What a challenge it must be to have an educated idea how those man-what-an-awkward-stage youngsters will end up a year from now. The Frankel-Rose of Summer colt looks so good on paper. In person looks like a really homely pony.

More unfortunate than this poor lady? I know she's butt high right now and all....but she's just all kinds of homely  That head, little eye...

I still wonder how much she will bring. Despite her ugliness, she is half to multiple G1 winner Contested and is full to KEESEP14 $2,200,000 sale and recent G2 placed Air Vice Marshal

Thanks for posting. Which of these yearlings looked the best in person?

So far I liked the War Front-Misty For Me and the Giant's Causeway-Blissful. I'm heading over in an hour to look at more so I'll let you know who I liked best today. The Birdstone half to Stellar Wind has a nice shoulder and butt to him.

I think you did a fine job with the photos, considering. One way to improve would be to squat slightly (so you are not taking the photo "down"), especially since you are so close to them. It provides a more balanced, representative and flattering view.

Thank you for sharing your pictures.

Yea that's what sucks about being tall!! Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely remember next time. I took a bunch today, but I never squatted so they will look the same haha.

Tried but I can't see anything, they are probably set to friends, in order for anyone on here to see them, they need to be set to public.

Lovely photos. I don't have time to comment on all of them but thank you so much for sharing them here.

I'm not very good with conformation and I think most horses are good looking. ;) but here are some that stood out to my tastes or dislikes.

Snow Top Mountain filly - I want to like her but unless its the way she is standing, it looks like her hind feet turn different directions, like a duck
Ava Knowsthecode colt - just gorgeous color, pretty pony post
Rose Of Summer colt - his head looks like a donkey
Detect colt - like him
Dream Supreme colt - really like him but may be because I love Dream Supreme
Sugar Canyon colt - nice looking colt
Seattle Shimmer colt - looks like a T-Rex in the pic where he is facing the camera, doesn't look that bad when he is looking away
St. Trinians colt - nice looking colt
Film Maker filly - her pasterns are shocking
Plum Pretty colt - solid and good looking
Betterbetterbetter filly - looks good, though kind of hard to see
Amelia filly - looks like she is going to fall over forward, probably just how she is standing, unless her front legs are really super short.
Lotta Kim colt - like him overall but his back seems a bit short
Silver Colors colt - like him
Pure Clan colt - looks nice, has a sprinter rear end on him. Could you tell the person who commented on him that Smart Strike died? I don't know why that bothers me.

Yea some of these yearlings didn't want to stand properly so they don't look very flattering in some of the pictures. The Seattle Shimmer colt did not want to hold still so I gave up trying to get a decent shot. The Amelia filly was really interested in her handler so she's really stretching out that neck of hers, and the Betterbetterbetter filly I just quickly took because they were about to put her away and the sun ruined it. I think my friend forgot that he died because she is a horse racing whiz

Thanks for sharing your pictures. :) Of those I like the Plum Pretty, Detect, and India colts the best. I'll have to watch and see what they go for.

Of course I love the Tapit babies but I'm also interested in the sibling to Ride On Curlin as well

Y'all are tough on these babies. They are just in awkward growth stages. I bet that Sluice one grows up to blow our minds away!!! :-)
They grow into those bits and pieces, a good eye can see that...and it's about the way they walk too.

Did you also take pictures of Hips 485 and 1423, the half-brothers of Novellist and Protectionist? Would love to see those two.

Unfortunately I didn't since I ran out of time. I wouldn't have been able to get hip 1423 anyway since only book 1 horses were on the sales grounds when I was there.
