Secretive (3YO colt by Indian Charlie out of Collusion) just broke his maiden in the 5th race at Aqueduct going a mile on dirt. He stalked the pace while bottled up inside early, advanced on the turn while angling to the outside, then fought his way past the long-time leader to win by a half-length.

Let's hope that Magical World runs a similarly strong race in the finale.

Ran 5th in a close finish between 3-4-5.

Not a bad race. Pleasant Home was one of my favorite racers. Can hope the filly develops like her dam.

I thought it was a good effort from Magical World despite a wide trip. This was the first time she seemed to show any interest in being a racehorse subsequent to her fine debut performance.

The immensely talented Imagining gets his graded stakes victory in the Red Smith repeating his new style of settling and making a middle move. That's three straight Red Smith's for the stable. Would sure hope he runs next year.

Woohoo, so glad for him... I just missed it, but luckily have it recorded, so can watch it later...

The $250,000 Grade II Hollywood Turf Cup at 1 1/2 miles in four weeks is under consideration. Imagining ran his eyeballs out when second in the Hollywood Derby two years ago when he was still eligible for a first level allowance. Sure hope he goes vs. heading to Florida. I forgot he was Gr I placed as I did not realize the Hollywood Derby was a Grade I.

Mr. Speaker (Pulpit x Salute) runs tomorrow at Aqueduct - race 8 - Smiling and Dancin Stakes.

ETA: Racing was cancelled due to high winds. Wonder if it will be rescheduled?

Nice article Lakeway, thanks for sharing. With Point of Entry retiring and Boisterous having been sold, there will be plenty of options for Imagining in that division if he proves up to the challenge.

Inside Information's last foal, Secret Bid, just broke his maiden at Aqueduct going a mile.

Thanks Roar - I missed that Secret Bid was running. Glad he finally broke his maiden...

Beat the Drums (2010 filly by Smart Strike out of Storm Flag Flying) will make her belated debut on Saturday at Aqueduct in the 3rd race going 7 furlongs.

It was nice to see Sea Trial (2011 filly by Unbridled's Song out of Storm Flag Flying) get up for 3rd last weekend at Aqueduct in her second start. And I thought Hereditary (2011 colt by Medaglia d'Oro out of Pleasant Home) and Ironicus (2011 colt by Distorted Humor out of Meghan's Joy) both ran very typical "Shug type" debuts.

Waited a long time for Beat the Drums to debut - looking forward to Saturday. Reflecting going in a GIII at Calder on Saturday also.

Unfortunately, they both finished seventh in their respective races.

Satisfaction won first asking today with a belated debut nearing age four in a 1M Md Sp Wt at Gulfstream on the turf. She broke on top settled off the pacesetter and ran her down on the wire showing a lot of ability and desire. Love to see Dancinginmydreams produce another runner. Hopefully she will end up a Grade I winner like older brother Dancing Forever.

I was at Belmont the day Dancinginmydreams broke her hind leg at the top of the stretch. I was watching the race in clubhouse apron... right across from owners's box. Saw Mr Phipps' get in the "red" SUV to go to DIMD. Spent 16 months at New Bolton.

Dancinginmydreams had some speed down the lane. When say ,"came from the clouds" that was DIMD nom de plume. Showed that speed at Saratoga in MDN race. Turned into a nice broodmare considering her injury after only 2nd or 3rd career race. Unfortunately, Dancing Forever went to India to stand stud

I was disappointed he left as well and was very sad to hear that he had died. Hopefully this filly will do well on the track.

What a ride by Jose Lezcano! Reminded me of Jerry Bailey on You in the Test - maybe not that tight but quite brave nonetheless and boy did Mr. Speaker take off once he got clear run on the inside down the backside. 10/1 was pretty sweet. Looks like the stable might have yet another male turf star.

Chumma,

I was even more impressed by the way Mr. Speaker moved up so quickly on the backstretch with Lezcano high in the irons. But Lezcano did give him a great ride. Looks like Shug may try Mr. Speaker on the dirt in the Holy Bull. Not only a possible turf star, but maybe a shot at joining Honor Code on the Triple Crown trail.

By a son of A.P. Indy out of an Unbridled mare...worked pretty well this year. :) Can't wait to see Mr Speaker on the dirt.
