Oh, like him being valued at $1m as a yearling? And that he wouldn't have taken anything less than that? ;-)
They were quite a few bidders short of sniffing that number.

Wasn't referring to Admin's post.

Yah, no kidding. What'd he get up to, $300,000?

I love the spin the media puts on stories, like how Zayat loved him soo much he 'bought his horse back for $300,000'. Rather than writing he failed to meet his reserve price...

I can't seriously believe they expected him to bring a million either. By a young, not terribly expensive sire....weak female family....and he's not a big imposing flashy type horse. He's attractive, but certainly not 'pretty' and an attention getter. Kind of a Slew type in that regard.

ROFL.
The beautiful thing about this typo is the fact that it can also be used as a joke against Zayat
I actually thought it was an intended onion type joke when I read it at first

As for the prices... Rather than sending a mare to Pharoah or PotN at those fees, I would rather send a mare to Cairo Prince who imo has a much more attractive female family (Nearctic, Holy Bull, Damascus, Native Dancer, Bold Rule in the first 5 gens). A bargain at 10 000$, really. Like Pharoah he showed early brilliance as a 2 year old and at the beginning of his 3 yo season. Had he not injured himself before the TC run, I think the word "Chromies" wouldn't exist. Poor man's AP with a female line actually suited to classic distances. Anyone want to pitch in to buy a mare or nah  ?

I think PotN might be a freak in the breeding shed, should be interesting to see how his offspring continue to do. "Empire Maker" might have been a prophecizing name heh.
