This guy, Herd Mentality, wasn't anything big on the track (he did debut in the same race that Lochte debuted in '13: Herd Mentality was 3rd and Lochte was 7th), but he was retired and adopted out via New Vocations. He's adorable, and seems quite intrigued by the barn kitty

That has to be one of the cutest things ever!

I like the idea of this thread, too. Glad he found a happy place. :D

This kiddo has already been retired and adopted out (he never raced and doesn't even have a Jockey Club registered name), but isn't he lovely? This is My Miss Aurelia's 2010 half-brother by Mr. Greeley:

None one is better at this than the brothers. I think that's Greeley's Legacy hanging out as well- he is generally with them.

I see on the Aqueduct card today is the Stud Muffin Stakes. Haven't heard in a while how he is doing in his second career as an
event horse. Does anyone know or have pictures of this guy?

Stakes winner Omega Star turned up at a low-end auction recently. He raced against Goldencents in the San Felipe.

Auction Horses Rescue pulled him.

Akindale posted some pics of him in February on Facebook. He was at their South Carolina location then.

Dang, I hope Omega Star's former connections donate too.

If only all could be this lucky.

Brass Hat to Compete at KY Horse Park Show
Fans of grade I winner Brass Hat will have a chance to see the popular gelding in action when the Thoroughbred Horse Show Association hosts its fifth annual show on May 8 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

Brass Hat, now 15, will be ridden by 12-year-old Jett Bradley. She is the daughter of William "Buff" Bradley, who trained the horse in his racing days, and the granddaughter of Fred Bradley, who owned and bred the gelding.

A really great video about Godolphin's rehoming/retraining team, with lovely footage of African Story and Prince Bishop turned out together, among others :D

The video is on this page:

And check out their Success Stories for some familiar names/pedigrees and photos of their lives after the track:

Pennmarydel in retirement.

Tamarack Hill Farm added 7 new photos.
It isn't every day that a full brother of Barbaro comes strolling into your yard---
This is Pennmarydel, 6 years, by Dynaformer X La Ville Rouge, by Carson City.
Allie Conrad has him, from his owner/breeder Mrs Roy Jackson, after he was less than stellar on the track.
A big, strapping, handsome boy, he hasn't even started to fully grow into himself yet.

This is such a good story, I may have posted it before:
Smarty Jones son retires in a full-circle moment
A stakes-winning son of Smarty Jones was retired to former Three Chimneys communications director Jen Roytz this winter after a lengthy and successful racing career.

In a development that brought her history with Smarty Jones and his son full circle, Roytz went from her earlier days writing about the talented 9-year-old gelding offspring of Smarty Jones, to owning him outright as of February.
