This poor guy was from racing royalty, with his sire being Tapit, and his dam being Bar of Gold, who earned more than $1.5 million on the track, including winning the BC filly and mares sprint. He was only 3.
This one was sad, so young. But he wasn't working out more than about 1x a month, which isn't very much, so maybe they were taking it easy on him.......and wasn't doing well in races.

Barn fires are so sad and devastating.

I just saw a Youtube video that a fire in Ohio claimed 44 AQHA reining horses last week, along with the owners dogs. The one owner tried to save horses, he got burnt, though the article doesn't say how badly.

I thought if anyone wanted to watch the one owner's video that lost a horse, its here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPO9zYdVVE0 There were sprinklers and firewalls but it didn't stop anything. The one owner of the facility that was burned, tried to get horses out but they wouldn't leave. :(

Coolmore is not perfect, but the fact that Tale of the Cat spent 25 years at Ashford says a lot about them. His groom must be devastated.

Always loved this guy. Another absolute gem of a stallion. Great pedigree.
And the sire class he was in, has to have been one of the beat ever - Awesome Again, Elusive Quality, Distorted Humor, Grand Slam, Stormy Atlantic, Indian Charlie.
RIP Tale of the Cat

rip tale of the cat. loved seeing him at coolmore, such a sweet old boy. his legacy lives on through his offspring. 30 is a great age for a stallion, he had a good life.

2019 Japanese Derby winner Roger Barows(JPN) died this morning at Arrow Stud. :(
They haven't yet announced the cause of his death.
But it sounds like he had colic.
May he rest in peace.

Since Lord Nelson lost his battle with laminitis in fall of 2021, losing a G1 daughter of his is a double blow. There may be no more like her. :(
