Ever Summer fell coming into the final turn of the 4th at Saratoga. I glimpsed her stand up, but then the camera panned past.

@DRFGrening In SAR 4th, #1 Frivole was pulled up early on by Manny Franc. Frivole was vanned off
UPDATE: @DRFGrening Just spoke with @GrahamMotion who said Frivole, pulled up early in SAR 4th is okay. She was pulled up by Franco "out of an abundance of caution" Motion said after taking a funny step. Motion said the filly is back in her own stall.

A horse flipped and got cast in the gate at Louisiana Race#5 and the race was declared a non-contest. Not sure on the horse as my livestream was playing up.

The only faller in todays 3 jumps races in NZ was immedately attended to by the vets and horse ambulance but is walking fine after the race

From the Stewards report (released online after the final race)
IZYMYDAAD (S Karnicnik) - Knuckled on landing after jumping the second of the Kennels Double dislodging its rider
then fell. S Karnicnik was immediately attended to by ambulance personnel and found to be uninjured other than
some general soreness. IZYMYDAAD lay on the track for some time with the Veterinarian present, before regaining its
feet appearing to have been winded. The horse ambulance was deployed, transporting IZYMYDAAD back to the
saddling area. A subsequent veterinary inspection revealed a small amount of blood in the right nostril consistent
with IZYMYDAAD having hit its head on falling. Other than that no other obvious abnormalities were detected apart
from the gelding being fatigued. Stewards will follow up with the stable in coming days and a veterinary clearance is
required prior to IZYMYDAAD racing again

Famished was pulled up and vanned off after "appeared to take a bad step" in the 2nd at Penn today, Lebanon Valley Stakes. He was on the lead when it happened and his abrupt pull-up caused True Success to clip heels and lose rider. True Success walked off but any news on Famished? It looked pretty bad from the brief glimpse available in race replay.

Floki's Flight (Khozan) was pulled up at the top of the stretch in the 10th at Saratoga, a 1-mile AOC for 3yo+up on the turf.

Burning Bright was pulled up on the backstretch of the John's Call at Saratoga. I could see two of the outriders galloping their horses back down the backstretch toward him, which makes me think it was urgent..an injury to the horse. BB is a beautifully-bred horse - by Empire Make out of Forever Together, 2008 Champion Turf Mare.
Race won pretty easily by Tawny Port.

Nate The Great (GB), pulled up quickly in the Gr. II Lonsdale Cup an hour or so ago. didn't look too good, but i saw he had been loaded into the ambulance. does anyone have further updates? he's had quite a few layoffs, but i'm not sure if those aren't due to the European racing season...

Last update was he’s being treated in the stable yard after going in the ambulance.brunanas wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2023 11:29 am Nate The Great (GB), pulled up quickly in the Gr. The layoffs for him aren’t unusual for horses racing over here, not all horses like soft or heavy turf or synthetic surfaces so they tend to have a longer break over the winter. They did ship him out to Saudi over last winter as well so he’d have been quarantined there and back.

From RacingPost:
"It was a bittersweet day for the Balding yard, whose Nate The Great had to be put down after being pulled up. "As ever, York looked after him as best they could right to the end," said Balding. "He dislocated a joint and did a lot of other damage around it. It was decided the best thing for the horse was sadly to put him down.""

Another “bad step, van off” at Saratoga today. “La Aguililla” appeared to take a bad step, then a few strides over the finish line she appeared to break down. So far, Twitter is just saying vanned off. She’s from the David Jacobson barn.
