Roamin and Dusty in Front
Cruzan and Blunny are close
All 4 very into The Hunt

The hunt for Breeder Cup glory
To be the best of the day
Wanting to be first at the wire
Hoping Early Speed will Pay

The rest of the field seems sluggish
But we have a long way to go
Anything can and often happens
Before the end of the show

There at the top of the stretch
2 Leaders Now we can see
Cruzan and Roman in front
But at the wire where will they be?

Many lengths back is the “Bunny”
His battery is running on low
But he still has plenty of time
To make it go Faster than slow

Tiger Dancer, Thunder Cat and Catalina
Are many lengths farther behind
Dusty, Post Time Mike and Ruffian
Are running as if they are blind

Defending champion ~ Ruffian
Has left her “Cheetah “ A-Snoozin
At the rate she is running right now
It’s a guarantee she will be losin

And, down the stretch they all come
With Cruzan Now in the lead
Roamin just couldn’t keep up
The colt not finding enough speed

Catalina suddenly awakened
Realizing she’s in a horse race
From very far back she is coming
From Turtle to Speedy her pace

Not to be outdone by the Filly
It’s Blunny who’s now on the move
His Energizer battery on High
The “Bunny” Has sure found his groove

He’s passing one after another
But can he get there in time
Cruzan aware of The Bunny
Has winning even more on his mind!

Like lightning his speed is increasing
He has left The Bunny in his wake
There is no doubt who is winning
Unless he makes a mistake

Catalina has moved into third
With Dusty next farther back
Roamin is next on her tail
But, Speed, is what the rest lack

Cruzan is so far ahead now
Blunny is doing his best
But being the bridesmaid today
Better than all of the rest

Catalina catches the Bouquet
“The Precious” to Dusty will go
Roamin is just missing out
2 Strides will cost him The Show
