In the scramble for position, THUNDER CAT gets boxed in against the rail, and BLUNNY is taken back to avoid running up on REAL QUIET. CRUZAN uses the opportunity to pour on the speed and take over the lead. Coming out of the final turn, it is still CRUZAN followed by TIGER DANCER, CIGARSHOP, and CATALINA in a fierce battle for second, with CATALINA prevailing in the final furlough, TIGER DANCER having to settle for third, and CIGARSHOP rounding out the top four.
