RESULTS ~ PER REAL QUIET: @ TBRF
Been a while since I've been in the dog house but it hasn't changed much.
A little worse for wear but it's my thinking that it won't be used as much
as the year goes on. It's COLT TIME the rest of 2017.
First thing I noticed were the three frosty's on the table.
WHOA says I. An 8 race card and I'm driving home so "no way Jose". I sip mine and go to watch race 1 and as the horses pass the finish line I turn around and 2 of the glasses are empty. Good to see John Henry and Criminal Type have made the dog house their home.
On second thought losing to the Phantastic Philly's ain't so bad.
The beer is cold and the company great. Now on to the races.
Ten have reached the gate at Keenland on this sunny 70 degree afternoon.
6 Fillies and 4 colts await the bell.
For those who care Ruffian comes in 5 pounds overweight all of it is her rulebook. Don't know why she is carrying it instead of a whip but maybe she knows today's scorekeeper.
All go in smoothly but problems persist.
Cigarshop the earliest poster is in post one and Tiger Dancer is in post ten.
Cigarshops head is facing dead right looking for the Tigger and the other 8 hope the starter can straighten Cigar out less he wipe out the field as the gate springs and he makes a sharp right.
As fate would have it Cigarshop breaks last then immediately goes out to the tenth path.
One of the four cats in the race AKA Thunder and Stark the Shark outbreak the field and head into the clubhouse turn.
As the field hits the halfway point two of the big cats have separated themselves
from the rest of the field.
From the gate to now it's been Thunder Cat on the lead.
Tiger Cat....errr Tiger the Dancer is stalking in second.
Everyone else is bunched. Can anyone reel in the CATS?
As we hit the stretch Thunder Cat is purring along and lengthening her lead.
Blunny is at Tiger Dancers neck trying to get by.
Real Quiet, Cigarshop and Catalina are running as a trio followed by Stark and El Prado
who are not making any progress.
Ruffian is tearing page after page out of her rulebook but is not making any progress.
Deja Vu to 2015, DUSTY CAN SEE THEM ALL!
And down the stretch they come!
Thunder Cat shows no signs of stopping. Tiger Dancer shakes off Blunny
while Ruff joins Cigarshop and Real Quiet in pursuit of the minor awards.
But ya never know. Stranger things have happened on the track.
Alligators at Delta, geese at PARX and even drunks at Churchill.
A Sharknado attack or a bunny running in front of T Cat are not out of the realm of possibility.
But not today. Thunder Cat smokes the field and only missed the 8th
or she would have had an in the money sweep.
Tiger Dancer holds on for second and Stark can put his pencil away as he rallies for 3rd with the biggest cash of the day in the finale.
As for colt time in the rest of 2017. It was the beer talking.
Here are the unofficial results pending a review by Ruffian.
Thunder Cat $76.40
Tiger Dancer $59.30
Stark $52.80
Cigarshop $41.80
Blunny $41.10
Ruffian $29.60
Catalina $24.20
Real Quiet $31.00
El Prado $18.60
And Dusty can see them all (but no golden goose) $5.20 (but gets to score)
Congrats on the win Thunder Cat. Nicely played.
