Oaklahoma Daily News Report:

Highway Robbery at Remington Park Racetrack

We have been advised from the Track Superintendent
that money is missing from their Wednesday race day cash box

They have notified the Remington Police Force (RPF) who
have put out a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) for the Following Suspects

Criminal Type
Tiger Dancer
Ruffian
Catalina
Dusty
CigarShop
John Henry
Stark (Repeat Offender!)
Real Quiet
Blunny

The Remington Mounted Patrol (RMP) also have been notified
to assist in the Search & Apprehension of the Suspects

After many tedious hours following numerous leads of 'suspicious activity'
the Suspects finally were discovered hiding out in the Basement of
Criminal Type where all appeared to be celebrating their escape

The RPF reports after apprehending the suspects who were taken
to the local Constabulary at Oklahoma City -
Attorneys appeared to state their defence of the alleged crime

Their Defence was that they believed much of the money taken in at
the track was not being used responsibly so they felt justified in taking
some of it with the intentions of donating to the Injured Jockey Fund

After stating their case to the Judge, whose nephew had been a jockey
and who had more than usual sympathy for the defendants ~
Their sentence was to be Community Service of Mucking Stalls
at Remington Park Racetrack

The Judge also ordered that all money found on the defendants be donated to
the Injured Jockey Fund and the City would reimburse the Track for their losses

Another decision by the Judge was that in the future, a portion of each day's
money taken in at the track, would be designated to go to the Jockey Fund

The Money found on each defendant:

Blunny = $67
Real Quiet = $57.50
Stark = $57.20
John Henry = $57.20
CigarShop = $45.80
(Also found in his pocket was a Golden Ring that he claims he found on the
Ground & which will be returned to the rightful owner if that person is located)

Dusty = $41
Catalina = $30.60
Ruffian = $20
(Also found in her pocket was a Bag of Catnip -
But due to existing laws as being Legal, no additional fines)

Tiger Dancer = $9.40
Criminal Type = $2.80
(Apparently had already used some of his money to buy several bottles
of Jack Daniels for the 'gang' which was confiscated from his basement
and returned to the local Liquor Store)

This was also Criminal Type's '3rd Strike' offence so he may be
subjected to House Arrest for a Week

The Track advised us that no further action will be taken -
And were so grateful for the quick response by the RPF
they decided to donate the returned money to the Jockey Fund!

So what began as a crime (with good intentions) ended with a silver lining after all
