Super Saturday at Churchill Downs
Where 13 Super Hot horses
Are parading the Twin Spires Grounds
The horses are almost now loaded
As 11 have entered their gate
But Ruffian & Real Quiet Together
Are making the others all wait
They've engaged in a Frisky Fun Frolic
Tho nobody even knows why
They finally entered their gate
As everyone lets out a sigh
"And they're off" we finally hear
With everyone breaking okay
Nobody wanting the lead yet
But the wire is a long way away
They're Coming out of the turn now
Two have emerged with the lead
Post Time Mike & Tiger Dancer
Both Showing incredible speed
They have left the field far behind
Criminal Type with a really quick move
The rest of the field showing little
And none yet have found their cool groove
It's many lengths back to the rest
Cigarshop - Stark - Dusty & Blunny
John Henry - Catalina & Peeptoad
With very slim chance to get money
And very far back there are three
El Prado --------- Ruffian And RQ
But the race is only half over
Maybe one at the wire comes thru?
They're at the Top Of The Stretch
Post Time Mike now leading the way
Tiger Dancer staying right with him
But is this the way it will stay?
And Down The Stretch Here They Come
A match race between the front two
When suddenly Peeptoad awakened
Up the rail she is firing right through
Cigarshop just found his good MoJo
With a lightning fast move coming fast
The Four in the lead are on Fire
But can speed such as this even last?
A roar from the crowd just erupted
But the reason we still cannot see
Apparently someone is coming
Up the rail ..... But Who can it be?
The wire looms just up ahead
The leaders show no signs of tiring
Post Time Mike is still in Command
But who is the horse suddenly firing?
And Now we can finally see who
The "Whirlwind" causing the roar
El Prado from the clouds she has come
But is it too late now to score
The Answer came quickly indeed
The Filly with fire in her eyes
And as she flew past the front runners
They all had a look of Surprise
Post Time Mike was the most shocked of all
With a lead that big = A "Sure Thing"
But we all know the infamous saying
"Ain't Over Till The Stout Lady Sings"
At the wire it was only El Prado
Leaving the rest simply in Shock
But clearly there was little doubt
This race That Filly did Rock!
Defending Champion Ruffian
Left her Inner Cheetah to nap
Now her frustrated trainer
Is ready to give her a slap
So here is the order of finish
Half of the field ran fairly well
But after the race was all over
Only one tale did we all tell
The amazing run to the wire
With an ending no one foresaw
