Go ahead and post the results. It'll be several hours before I'm able to get to it. Leaving the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel rest stop for the rest of the trip home.serenassong wrote:Bal and I are double checking the results, she is on the road, and my computer is in for service, so I have no access at night- will have updated results soon!

This coming Saturday, September 21 is the Grade II Gallant Bloom. Only one stakes race this weekend. Boring!
PLEASE READ
Sooooooo...... to change things up a bit, serenassong and I have decided to throw a little bonus into our virtual wagering. You do not have to participate if you don't want to. Although I can't imagine anyone not wanting to.
It's a chance to double your money.
Pick a horse in the Gallant Bloom. Pick two alternates. Be sure and list BOTH the horse # and name.
Then pick a horse in any other race on the card. Pick two alternates, as well - list horse # and name.
If both your horses hit the board, you'll double your virtual wager money.
If just your stakes horse wins, you'll get that money, as usual.
If your stakes horse does not hit the board but your 2nd wager does, you will not get any money.
I hope that's clear, and I hope everyone reads.
Remember - Saturday, September 21 - picks must be in before the start of the first race which is 1:05 p.m.

Sounds good, but, good heavens, I already have trouble putting down all the required bits like date and stakes name and race number and horse number and horse name and alt numbers and names, and doing all that by first post time. I'll try to remember, and yes, it would be just neat to double the wager money.

Oh, c'mon, it's not that difficult. My 99 year old aunt understands and carries out all the instructions in those Reader's Digest contests, and they're a lot more difficult.Catalina wrote:Sounds good, but, good heavens, I already have trouble putting down all the required bits like date and stakes name and race number and horse number and horse name and alt numbers and names, and doing all that by first post time. Now if you could teach her how to handicap she'd be a holy terror...Ballerina wrote:Oh, c'mon, it's not that difficult. Seriously though, I appreciate the new wrinkle to the contest, and promise to crank up the coffee supply a bit earlier on weekends. Can't really up the amount of coffee per cup, or it'll start dissolving the teaspoons.

Thank you Bal & Serena for running this fun contest. I see that I have 23 virtual $$. How did I get that? I was actually expecting 0. I m 0 for 2. How are the virtual $$ won again? Thanks!

Virtual wagers are $20 across the board.slewobarney wrote:Thank you Bal & Serena for running this fun contest. I see that I have 23 virtual $$. How did I get that? I was actually expecting 0. I m 0 for 2. How are the virtual $$ won again? Thanks!
On Sunday, you chose Dreaming of Cara #2 in Race 7 John Hettinger Stakes. She came in 3rd and paid $2.30 for a $2.00 wager. A $20 wager would give you 10 x's $2.30.
Hope that helps.

I know I got your blood pressure pumping saying you could double your money because there was only one stakes race and you could pick a horse in another race on the card. I don't want to go back on that. So pick a horse in both stakes and if they both hit the board, you double your money. If only one horse hits the board you get that money.
Now PLEASE don't tell me how complicated this is. I've read some of y'all's posts, and they make my eyes roll back in my head with the complexity of them. So no whining.
Don't understand? Just ask.

This looks like fun, and my buddy, Bad Debt is running in the added stake, so I know who my top horse in one of them will be anyway, lol.

No - it's just this week alone. Wasn't aware there would be two stakes races and I was giving everyone a chance to double their money. I didn't want to take that benny away, so we made it pick a horse in both stakes, but IT'S JUST FOR THIS WEEK or any future week where there is only one stakes race.Raven wrote:So if there are multiple stakes races we pick in any two of those. And if it's only one we do the any other race thing.Right?
Hope everyone understands that.
