RESULTS PER REAL QUIET

Welcome to the beautiful Ruffian Downs for the Ruffian Stakes hosted by Keenland on a Midweek Mayhem BOTS afternoon.

Due to the fact "Stewards" Ruffian, Dusty and Tiger Dancer are all competing in the event special Stewards have been appointed to fill in.

They are from the honorable law firm of Dewey, Cheatem and Howe. A petition was quickly filed from the dog house and an oversight panel has arrived at the scene led by Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King.

As the gate springs open for the first race the Official sign has gone up declaring Ruffian this weeks BOTS winner but it is quickly disallowed by the special panel.

MLK is overheard saying "I have a dream and it's not a filly winning".

Fillies break inward and outward never running in a straight line while DC&H engage in a spirited discussion on how to disqualify the colts for running in a straight line.

At this point Mother Teresa is seen trying to climb over the press box wall to get at them.
As the race unfolds its clear Tiger Dancer, Catalina and Cruzan are out of the race possibly from expending too much energy racing to post time.

Dusty and Real Quiet quickly join them in the also ran brigade.
Ruffian takes 4th place with Thunder Cat taking third in a close battle.

Cigarshop also rushed to the gate but it appears his running start helped and he easily takes second. The winner of this weeks contest was Blunny who dusted the field.

He left no doubt about it and broke out of the gate on top and increased his margin from there.
I am not the statistician that Ruffian is but if my memory serves me right
Blunny will be trying for an 8 peat next week.

Now everybody knows how my memory is. The unofficial official light goes on after 42 minutes (it's never official until the Ruff gives her blessing) of the Stewards viewing the videotape for a way to give the fillies a BOTS win.

We would still be waiting had not Gandhi ripped the door off the hinges and cleared out the Steward box. He was speaking a special language and it wasn't Indian.

Following are my results but as always check for errors.

Blunny $54.30
Cigarshop $41.10
Thunder Cat $33.90
Ruffian $29.40
Real Quiet $24.70
Dusty $24.50
Cruzan $22.50
Catalina $12.70
Tiger the Dancer $7.60

Good afternoon from Keenland. Drive safely.

As for my race recap, as Frank Sinatra sang, "I do it my way".
