He’s currently leading freshman sire, but I noticed he only has 87 named foals compared to 140 for McKinzie.
What gives? Was he not popular his first year?

Okkk. So, only some weren’t named. Thanks!
Is that a low percentage of LF?

Its on the low end of average, which is like 60 or 65%+, but we don't know how many of those mares he got in foal that didn't have a foal for whatever reason. He also wasn't supposed to retire at 4 and retired late, so he didn't get the biggest book right his first year. It was still a big book though.
