I think the link says Puca will visit into Mischief in 2024 and Frankel in 2025.KatieK101 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 8:32 pm Puca —> Frankel

With the success she has had with Good Magic, it is a little surprising to see her headed to different stallions two years in a row.
Into Mischief and Frankel are, of course, two of the top stallions in the world, and I wonder if their owners made a tempting offer to Puca's connections. Maybe a mating with such a tremendous broodmare is considered something of a prize?

The mating to Into Mischief was actually tabled in favor of sending her to Good Magic again instead. She foaled a colt by him this year.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 10:12 pm With the success she has had with Good Magic, it is a little surprising to see her headed to different stallions two years in a row.

Did I get something wrong? The thread is for 2025 matings. The Into Mischief (turn Good Magic) mating was reported in the 2024 thread.MTO wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 9:33 pmI think the link says Puca will visit into Mischief in 2024 and Frankel in 2025.KatieK101 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 8:32 pm Puca —> Frankel

There was never a thread made, though we did talk about the Frankel mating somewhere on here back when the article was posted. I think its an interesting choice to give her a chance with an elite turf stallion. Her sire, Big Brown, did well in his only turf start, and she is a 1/2 to turf G1/millionaire Finnegan's Wake(by Powerscourt(by Sadler's Wells). So sending her to Frankel who is also from the Sadler's Wells line makes sense to me. Also really happy to see they scrapped the Into Mischief breeding. I'm not usually a big fan of a mare going back to a stallion over and over and over because it rarely works out, but its worked out so far. And it gives them a chance to get a filly from the cross.

Well, forget what I said about Frankel. Looks like they decided to send her back to Good Magic for 2025.

Unless I’m forgetting somebody, that will make four times Puca has been sent to Good Magic so far, with three colts. Would be nice if this next one is a filly!
I would also like to see her eventually sent to Frankel, for the same reasons Flanders stated.

She was supposed to go to Frankel in 2025 for a 2026 foal. The new article says nothing about next year. The one you posted from earlier in the year, did indeed say what you had originally posted.KatieK101 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 10:39 pm Well, forget what I said about Frankel. “If we had gotten a filly we would have stuck with our original plan but we are holding out for a filly by good magic.”
So I’m assuming they’ve tabled both the Into Mischief and Frankel matings shared in that article and instead are sending her to Good Magic back to back.

Makes sense to me. Who wouldn't want a full sister to 2 Classic winners?KatieK101 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 10:47 pmI asked John Stewart about the 2025 Frankel mating on X and he replied,Flanders wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 10:41 pmShe was supposed to go to Frankel in 2025 for a 2026 foal. Juddmonte doesn’t offer any incentives to breed to Frankel. They don’t need to. He’s already being bred to best broodmares in the world: dams of classic winners, classic winners themselves, dams of Arc winners, etc.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 10:12 pm With the success she has had with Good Magic, it is a little surprising to see her headed to different stallions two years in a row.

When I first read about Puca going to Frankel, I thought that’s a lot of Danzig. But Good Magic also has Danzig in his third generation, courtesy of Hard Spun.

Looking at Puca/Frankel, if my pedigree terminology is correct, then the resulting foal would be 2x5 Danzig, 3x4 Northern Dancer (further back), 2x5 Mr. Prospector, and finally 2x5 Special (a mare).
