The rise of German bloodlines

Never thought I'd use the word "riveting" to describe a long article about bloodlines, but Ryan Goldberg's article -- about the rise of German bloodlines, the family and the horses that made it happen, and what happens next -- for TDN is simply superb. Goldberg, for me, is THE current star of turf writing.

Tremendous read. Thanks for sharing. Especially enjoyed reading how American bottom-of-the-barrel claimer Spirit of Eagles became a star broodmare in Germany; plucked from obscurity by Monty Roberts.

Thanks for that- just skimmed over it a bit, will get in more depth now.
Been kinda looking at the German lines ever since I saw Monty Roberts and his story about Lomitas. I really am starting to believe that we need to incorporate the German lines to give our stock a bit of a boost, the more I read, the more convinced I become.

Animal Kingdom is a good start.
AK is a great start. I haven't hoped this hard for a stallion's success in a long time.
