is anyone familiar with Reed Hill Farm?
they seem to clearly be color breeders. don't know how ethic they are, so i would appreciate some info if anyone in here has heard of them before. if color breeding can even be ethic, that is. the only one with starters seem to be R H F Harlequin, and he only has 1 starter anyways. judging by their website it does seem they do not tend to breed racers, but i found it odd that the breeding numbers were registered with the JC either way.

they currently have 5 stallions registered with the JC. click their names for the pedigree page:
R H F Rockwell
2022 - 4
2021 - 3

R H F Highlander
2022 - 2

Couture Colors:
2017 - 4
2018 - 3
2019 - 4
2020 - 4

R H F Golden Globe:
2013 - 11
2014 - 5
2015 - 5
2016 - 3
2017 - 9
2018 - 12
2019 - 4
2020 - 2

R H F Harlequin:
2016 - 5
2017 - 9
2018 - 5
2019 - 6

as you can see all of them are unraced and usually come from a few unraced colored generations. would appreciate some insight.

They have to be registered with the Jockey Club to be Thoroughbreds, regardless of if they race or not. Color breeding can be ethic if the farm is actually breeding horses for a purpose with good conformation. They aren't ethic when they just breed to breed and hope that people buy them because they are pretty colors.

I don't know anything about the farm. The only time I ran into their name, I believe they were the farm that sold palomino mares to Calumet when they did their foray into breeding colored thoroughbreds.

thank you as always! do you have some more info on the whole Calumet breeding colored horses situation? like links to posts and etc. i've seen it talked about here but very brief information, and i've always been curious. couldn't find anything when i tried searching. i know about the Risque Remarque story but not about the colored mares...

Proceed with caution in any dealings with them. Absolute looney tunes....... to the point they're banned from a ton of TB FB pages

Hmmm, any futher details? I'm a bit surprised to hear this. But then again, I only know few of their thoroughbreds and have never seen any posts in FB groups or whatsoever.

Applies to the Blazing Colours Farm and True Colours Farm people also. Color breeding seems to attract the crazies.

True Colours Farms closed years ago. They retired and phased out of breeding, selling off their stock

I've seen Caroline Reed going nuts at and attacking people online for years. Just a very combative and seemingly unstable type....

TCF closed but the lady was known for advertising her stallion in every horse forum, unsolicited.

I meant Norsire Farm, not Blazing Colours, sorry. They were/are known for very close inbreeding to very ugly horses to get the dilute colors i.e. https://www.pedigreequery.com/admired+by+all https://www.pedigreequery.com/blonde+wv+girl
