Hip 231 - Secret Oath

I didn't know she was being retired and sold. Unless her new owners want to continue racing her, we won't get to see how good she might be as a 4yo. :(

That would be disappointing since Arrogate was better as an older horse. :(

My Racehorse has also accepted Fasig-Tipton's invitation to enter A Mo Reay in the November sale. A Mo Reays best stakes finish is third in a grade 1 and she's being consigned by Taylor Made as a racing or broodmare prospect. I'm curious to see what she will sell for and if she stays here or gets snapped up by an overseas buyer.

I believe Shedaresthedevil went through the ring in 2021 to dissolve or restructure a partnership. I wonder if this is a similar situation. Last time around, Mandy Pope bought out Big Aut Stables. I would be surprised if either Pope or Qatar Racing didnt try to keep her this time.

Is she definitely being retired? Or offered as racing or breeding prospect? She has tailed off a bit and looks thin to me like she needs some R and R but I think can improve next year with perhaps a more conservative racing schedule.

She is being sold as a racing or broodmare prospect. Its pretty rare that someone buys a filly or mare and brings her back the next year. Its really going to depend on who buys her. Also just cause she is entered now, doesn't mean her current owner couldn't change their mind and pull her from the sale.

It could be that Briland entered her preemptively "just in case." She is a homebred, but in the current era, if a smaller operation gets a big mare they will usually sell her instead of retaining in the program.

I wonder if Secret Oath's performance at the Breeders Cup will change her entry in the sale.

Unless she wins the Distaff, I don’t see her being worth more than she was last year at this time of year. Weird.

Yup I saw that. And alot of the less rational chrome fans on fb are saying "it's a shame Taylor made is going to do Cilla dirty like they did her sire". It's crazy. 1. Selling chrome to a farm where's he's thriving and loved isn't doing him dirty and 2. Taylor Made doesn't even OWN Cilla. Her owner hired Taylor Made to consign her and they have no control over what happens in the sales ring. She could be sold to join chrome in Japan or she could rna. Nobody knows the outcome. I literally want to ask some of the people "do you even think before you talk?" But it's not worth it. I just don't get hating a farm just for selling a horse

I understand being a fan of a horse (clearly), but some have a habit of taking it too far. The Chromies who celebrated Arrogate's death? The Chromies who cried that Chrome would be so depressed he'd try to swim home? The lunacy
A is for Arrogate, A is for absolute superstar, A is for anointing

They're even worse than the FOBs, at least those guys did a lot of work with Thoroughbred aftercare programs.

Reckon why they are selling Campanelle instead of keeping her as a Broodmare.

Wesley ward just entered Campanelle in the Hong Kong sprint in December. So could they have decided to pull her from the sale then? Wouldn't make sense to make shipping plans to run her internationally if she's going to be sold

Hip 216 - Onshore - unraced, young G1 producer(dam of Onesto), in foal to Wootton Bassett. Her dam is a full sister to TWO English Broodmares of the Year, in Hasili and Arrive. Kind of strange to see her in this sale as opposed to the Tattersalls December Mare Sale. But have to imagine she'll bring a fair bit, either going back to Europe or to Japan.
