West Point buys Tapit colt for 1.7 M. So who is the half- brother who “ took a bad step” a few years ago and what happened to him?

It must be Bugle Notes (2015 Ghostzapper-Pension). He was purchased by West Point as a yearling for $825,000. He had a race record of 5-1-1-12 $58,575 The JC shows him as exported.

Hmmm… their comments made it sound like he had such talent but that race record says otherwise…interesting. With the bad step comment I was afraid he had died.
