I haven't gotten a chance to go through the whole sale yet but I did see a 8 current YEARLINGS(will be 2 at the time of the auction) are in as broodmare prospects only.

4 current stallions are in the sale.
Frac Daddy

And Calumet stallions:

Too crooked and unsound to race? Why would anyone do this?

Looks like Calumet is trying to move their "private" stallions. Also looks like Musketier (GER) is either gone or has passed away. I think I heard the latter but never saw it in print.

You can add 14 Ramsey-owned horses that Wesley Ward has received permission to sell.

Surely contact the Jacksons about lentenor and they can try and see if old friends or new vocations wants him. They've done similar for the other siblings

Calumet had entered 5 stallions in a Keeneland Digital Sale last December, people lost their minds, they withdrew them. That included the above 3 plus Grey Swallow(who has since died) and Musketier(who is a ???, last covered mares in 2020, which doesn't mean anything as see below). As I said last year, they'll be lucky if they are sold for 1k each. If they don't want to breed them, obviously no one else wants to either. Them being in the sale last year was a pretty big signal that the stallions were for sale and no one bought them.

Behesht hasn't covered mares since 2019.
Lentenor hasn't covered mares since 2019.
Snapy Halo wasn't bred in 2019/2020 and only covered 1 mare in 2021.

I noticed this! It made me physically ill. It's also one of the first times I, personally, have seen this in a mainstream auction.

I looked and there were 2 last year as well, both sold and neither were bred. So I guess just cause they are being sold as broodmares doesn't mean the buyer is going to breed them right away, which is good.

It's also possible that they've simply had injuries and illnesses that make them unraceable. Even the most perfectly sound horse can kick a nail, get septic arthritis, and have their racing career end before it started. :?

That's what I was thinking--not that the sellers were anxious to see them bred at 2, but that they had some issues so that the owner wanted to flag them as not racing sound. Whether they should be bred. .. could be asked about a lot of stallions. 8-)

I agree with you.

I see that Breeder's Cup Juvenile Turf winner, Structor is in there. I wondered what happened to him. I had always hoped he would have had a better career than he did :(

He has surgery for an airway problem in early 2020, then when returning in mid-2020, he got injured. He made it back early this year but they haven't said, that I have seen, specifically what is the problem this year. While the vast majority of airway surgeries are successful maybe his wasn't? Since he had never raced after having the surgery. Or he is just unsound?

The start of the sale has been postponed one day due to a lot of shipping cancellations following a recent snow storm.

This is hip 132... I think someone messed up the photoshopping a bit? Makes me wonder what they were trying to hide on his hock.

I think if they were trying to fix something on the hock it would be apparent they "fixed it" way too well. Could've been a mis-click or something related to the tail.
