One day after Keeneland posts their catalog, Fasig-Tipton does the same!

I see that Swiss Skydiver is listed as only a broodmare prospect versus a racing/broodmare prospect like many of the other high profile fillies and mares coming off the track. Does that mean she has been "officially" retired?

FT usually has the big name mares while Keeneland still has million dollar+ mares just not the huge prices.
2019 and 2020 - Keeneland had 23 mares sell for $1,000,000+, the highest being Take Charge Brandi at $3,200,000.
2019 and 2020 - Fasig Tipton had 40 sell for over $1,000,000, with 6 of those being over Keenland's 2 year high price. Highest Monomoy Girl at $9,500,000 and 3 others at 5 million+.

I’m disappointed that Maracuja is being sold. She’s disappointed recently, but I’m sad she’s being sold anyway; Rob Atras has done a great job with her. Her owners only have a few horses and the main investor recently said that they weren’t going to look for anymore anytime soon due to pandemic (or something like that), so maybe they are getting out.
I hope she lands with good connections.

I did recall that after looking at last year's forum. Still, I don't remember FT selling 40 for over $1,000,000! Good for them!
I'm surprised that Take Charge Brandi is being sold again. This is the third time since she's been retired. I remember her sale in 2019 was so that Hill n Dale could buy out their partner; she hasn't had a winner from three foals to race, so I can't imagine she'll bring more than her previous price.

I'm sure that her sell has less to do with her last two starts, and far more to do with the fact that she's a G1W. I think Honor Code will prove to be a good broodmare sire, and given her record, I'm sure she'll land on a high quality farm somewhere
EDIT: I just looked as she's listed as a broodmare or racing prospect, so it's possible she'll continue racing! I hope they try her as a 4YO, seeing as the Honor Codes tend to do better as they age.

Oh yeah, I’m sure that’s true...the owners may need a cash infusion, who knows?
She’s an awfully nice filly, and she really should run next year as, like you said, HCs are later developers. I agree, she’ll make a fine broodmare prospect...
Thanks for the info !

Better to sell her now before her value drops more. I think they were hoping her foals would sell for big money and well, that hasn't really happened. As they only sold one when they owned her in partnership, the 2nd one RNA'd so Hill N Dale ended up racing him in partnership and then sold him for less than 30k, the current 2yo they bought back when they dissolved the partnership and weren't able to sell him. The yearling Justify filly was an out at Keeneland September.

Per Rob Atras, Maracuja will return next year after a break of about 60 days ...she’s been in training since late 2020 without one, so this is a great idea.
Clearly, then, she’s going to be withdrawn...

There is a Bloodhorse article for today that says she is being sold to dissolve a partnership between Hill n Dale and Three Chimneys. The partnership also is selling Guarana, Magical World (dam of Guarana) and Carina Mia.

City of Light continues to be well represented in the sales ring - a weanling colt just went for $300K. It's early but he's the highest hammer so far.

Maracuja is out...no surprise as Rob Atras had already planned to have her back in his barn next year
