Any babies born at Keeneland this year? I've seen some heavy in foal mares come through but haven't seen any little ones...

As of the last results update, Adena Springs has bought 28 (one an unnamed newly turned 3YO) mares for as much as $180k and as little as $7k. Wonder what's up with that? They've culled a lot of G1 winners and other high-end mares the past few years.

Was Calumet a big buyer? Curious because they bought 3 fillies/mares by Smarty, ranging from $90K down to $5K.

Adena has two exciting stallion prospects entering stud for 2014 (Fort Larned and Point of Entry), so perhaps they are buying mares for those boys.

Yep, they bought 23 mares, $5K to $150K. They also bought 44 mares at the November sale, along with 5 weanling colts.

Keeneland's 56th January Horses of All Ages Sale concluded on Thursday with the cumulative numbers not that far off from 2013 despite one less day of selling.
