Lots and lots of nice pedigrees, as always.

I know that MDO and Lotta Kim produced Rachel Alexandra, but no way would I have bred Lotta Kim to Bolt D'Oro.

If they wanted an MDO son then why not Violence?

I would have greatly preferred this match, but I always wonder how much “negotiating“ goes into these matings. Do stud farms ever approach owners to discuss sending a certain mare to a certain stallion? And is this common practice? I would assume so.

Anyway, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what happened here. It would make sense to send Lotta Kim to a son of MDO, but I have a hard time believing that Bolt d’Oro was their first choice.
