We are just a few days away from the first arrivals. Can't wait. Especially looking forward to seeing Frankel's first babies.

Yep, not long now. Preparing myself for lack of sleep with the Winstar Foaling cams.

I'm wondering if there's a foal or 2 that's on the ground and hasn't been reported...yet

I have heard that this does happen, but no direct evidence that this is the case. Can't control Mother Nature.

I am BEGGING my mare to hold off just a few more days. I dont know why she does this...she foaled last year January 7, and wasnt due until the end of January. I didnt breed her back until the end of February, and she's trying to do it again.

I like the Australian system much better. There, the breeding dates are regulated, not the foaling dates. If a mare foals a little early (but was bred at the correct time) it's no big deal. That makes so much more sense to me.

Not yet. Has a good bag on her, tho. She needs to just WAIT.

Yep, at 12:01 on 1/1/14- she can go nuts.

Actually Im the one that goes nuts. She just goes about her business like a good girl

No foals yet for us. This is what things currently look like here.

No foal yet, but Im much relieved we made it thru December.

Thanks halo, and I'm glad your mare is still holding on.

Winstar should have their first foal on the ground in about a week. They have moved some mares into the foaling barn and are now being watched- how exciting! Kinda looking forward to watching the cams again, at all ungodly hours.

Stonestreets are due in 2 weeks.
