I came here just to post about that article.
Really interesting and terrible that a horse's cells could stop producing antibodies with no identifiable triggers, particularly when they are as old as 19.

I wonder if possible exposure to radiation while in Japan might have contributed to his condition? From the tsunami caused damage to the nuclear plant contamination episode?
