California mares bred to Stronach stallions...$500

Saw post on Facebook the other night with a link to a website.
On it were well over 20 mares and young horses. All the mares were bred to City Wolf, North Light and Shaman Ghost.
All for 'auction' and up for sale for $500. Basically, what seemed a dump site for lack of better wording...

I'd saved the link but the horses are not on the site now.

Anyone else see that? Seemed fishy all those Stronach stallion bred mares, being pawned off for $500.....

If any Stronach is involved in this, it is Andy, not Frank.

I don't like to call any horse this but they look like nags.

Is there like...a tip line for this stuff? Like tip Paulick Report or somebody into researching it further?

Journalism is dead but...

If you look at Paulick's home page, toward the bottom you'll find a list of the staff...and Ray Paulick has included a phone number after his name. I know he also has a Twitter account, Facebook and there's a CONTACT link in that red box at the bottom of the page.

Looks like he wants to make it possible for folks like you to be able to reach him, or someone on the staff.

Is this the link, Retrospectiv?
https://bid.bidfastandlast.com/bid/3240 ... qqmoVpG-W8

I just randomly picked a mare to search on Pedigree Query and found this for Switch It Up: "Available for adoption www.tranquilityfarmtbs.org - 2011". Also shows two offspring bred by Amerman foaled 2011 and 2012.

I don't have time right now to take a closer look at this, but I too recommend contacting someone at Paulick Report or maybe Tranquility Farm. Hard to tell what's going on here but, if they're making false claims, they need to be shut down.

Yup, those are the horses.

On a slightly different topic...... if this is what they're breeding to North Light/City Wolf/Shaman Ghost...... and then 'dumping them', hard to take seriously their ROB. Talk about quantity over quality...... anything that neighs. Just for numbers

Very strange. The 8yo Campsite, in foal to ShamanGhost, has a decent pedigree a little far back (Shenanigans is fourth dam, Laughter is 3rd, Ruffian's family) but can't figure out what's up. Hope someone can find something.

Has anyone contacted Paulick? Or waiting for some else to do it?

I just did now this morning.

Not sure if there's a story here or not.....but something seems odd here to me.

Why are they basically dumping all these horses for $550....and why are they all bred to Stronach stallions?

Good. I was going to myself but my internet has been spotty with the weather so I didn't want it to not actually "send".

This really is just...spooky.

OK so Tranquility Farms used to be an adoption group, but a few years ago they switched to being a sanctuary. I went back and looked at news posts and they do a lot of rescuing from kill pens (where they buy them from the killers, which fuels the problem, but I digress).

So, back when they adopted out, someone adopted Switch It Up and then...started to breed her? I don't know how common that is in the horse world, especially if this mare had gone through abuse before.

However, PQ says that 'Switch foaled a colt by Chattahoochie War the year she was listed as being for adoption, and then foaled a full brother the next year. Interestingly, both of these colts were bred by the Ammermans.

Apparently Andy Stronach comes up as the breeders of several of the foals...

Remember when Stronach used to sell what seemed like hundreds of mares at the fall auctions in foal to and with a free season to his stallions? It always felt like quantity over quality then.

Is there any better way to ring in the new year than by welcoming some new OTTBs to your herd? Nope!

We're pleased to announce the arrival of Ray's Charm and Lil' Bunny Foo Foo to our Southern California herd. These two come to us from aftercare partner United Pegasus Foundation, who recently acquired both mares from an online racing broodmare auction.

Ray's Charm is a 2011 gray mare. She had 6 starts as a three year old at Belterra and Turfway Park. She is by Zanjero out of Debutante's Charm (by Silver Charm). She had a foal by Einstein this year, who was recently weaned.
Lil' Bunny Foo Foo is a 2013 bay mare. She is unraced. She is by Colonel John out of Tree Pipit (by Woodman). Both mares arrived to United Pegasus Foundation in need of some weight and general care, and we're eager to continue the R&R and start their training when they tell us they are ready.

Lil Bunny has a beautiful head. I hope her new 'barn name' improves on her present official moniker. ;)

They're calling her Bunny... asking for suggestions for Ray's Charm and most seem to be leaning toward keeping "Charm." One suggestion for Silver Charm  and a few for Lucky/Lucky Charm.
