I'm tired but I didn't see a thread for this. If I missed it, I'll delete this one.

I'm intrigued that they've got 2 going to Mendelssohn, but nothing to Justify. And I don't think it's necessarily the stud fee, because they're using and have used American Pharoah (as well as Uncle Mo). Glad they're sending a couple to Oscar Performance, too.

I'm sad mares are already being booked to Mendy, no chance he runs on now :(
But this sort of reflects everything that has been said about this so far (standing Justify and Mendelssohn at the same time, the same farm, the same year and with likely a huge price differential). The fee may not be a factor, but it could be, and even if it weren't you're getting a son of Scat Daddy with better conformation out of a proven sire-producing blue hen mare, with less inbreeding to Mr P, who is a graded stakes winner at 2 and 3, for less. That seems like a no-brainer.

I just looked at the pedigree of Mutually Benefit, her damsire is Mr Prospector. Justify is inbred twice on him (4x3x4 iirc) but Mendelssohn is only inbred to him once (4x5 iirc). I'm not sure which Sweet Strike is the one listed here as both are mares and young enough/old enough to breed, but the youngest one is also inbred on Mr P (2x5) so Mendelssohn having a bit less Mr P could be appealing.

Solid choices. Good for Oscar Performance, Kitten’s Joy, and Good Magic.

What does the asterisk on Compelled mean?

I know Justify won the Triple Crown but, if I were a breeder, I'd take a chance on Mendelssohn before spending that kind of money on Justify. There's something about his build and his size, which really differs from the usual Scat Daddy, that makes me wonder how he'll do as a sire. Was he a freak who will not duplicate himself?

Me, too, if for no other reason than he already has a really successful sire 1/2 brother.

Agreed. He could be the Fairy King to Into Mischief's Sadler's Wells, or Sea the Stars to Galileo, or Kodiac to Invincible Spirit!

I also agree that it is kind of a bummer to see mares booked to him, I was really hoping by some miracle that they would keep him in training next year.

I am going to venture a guess that perhaps they would consider keeping her in training in 2019 instead of breeding her?

Lady Alexandra” we love you big girl. She’ll be retired after today and has a date with War Front. She had an AFib episode this summer after the Grade I and @GrahamMotion and team did a wonderful job nursing her back to health. Time to be a momma. 😉 @AntoinDeLeis @HillnDaleFarm

Maybe none of their mares match up with him - pedigree and physical-wise. GHF is in it to breed racehorses, and I think they breed with intent, not just breeding to a stallion for the sake of breeding because he’s an “it” horse.

Grade 1 Winner New Money Honey Retired
Two years ago, New Money Honey catapulted e Five Racing Thoroughbreds into the limelight when she won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1T) on the sport's biggest stage.

On Oct. 23, with less than two weeks remaining until this year's Breeders' Cup takes place up the road at Churchill Downs, the daughter of Medaglia d'Oro stepped off a van at Indian Creek Farm to begin her second career as a broodmare, with a date to top international sire War Front on the horizon.

Barbara Banke is considering sending Lady Aurelia overseas but also mentioned Curlin (ugh) and Good Magic (double ugh) as possibilities.

What is ugh about Curlin other than every Stonestreet mare or top mare ever is sent to him? Or is that it?

I think I saw somewhere that Daddys Lil Darling is going to Galileo (shock).

I say send her overseas to Galileo while Galileo is still doing his thing. Curlin and Good Magic are young yet and she can go to them in the next years. At the same time, it's easy to say that when she's not my horse and I'm not the one risking sending a multi-million dollar mare abroad.

I'd also send her to War Front after Galileo, but I'm pretty biased. I'm not sure Banke has sent any mares to War Front yet.

It's dark in the shade but Oscar Performance looks like a picture @millridgefarm. We can't wait to breed Five Each Way, the half to Miss Temple City, this breeding season! @17bob17

Assuming all these are going to Girvin as well since they said they are buying mares to send to him. I'm to lazy to type them all out but you can see them at the link. Plus pedigrees if you want to click on them. The list will also update if they buy more in future sessions.
