Was surprised to see I Want Revenge listed, same goes for Morse Code and Japan.
I wonder who will get Lady Eli- she is a mean mare and apparently hard to handle. Tough to catch in the pasture so she is in the round pen when I was at HnD recently.
It sort of sound like she might be the next Preach attitude-wise but we will see how she is when she has her first foal.

Well, I hope I Want Revenge doesn't end up in Saudi Arabia or somewhere.
Maybe HND will end up keeping her, lol.

I would assume any stallion going through the Keeneland sale that has foals of racing age is going outside the US. Its not a good sign, in my opinion, if they can't even find a market that wants to buy them.

I remember Da Stoops went through the ring a year or so ago and was bought by an Oklahoma farm, and I know there's usually a few stallions catalogued that are withdrawn, so I guess there's hope.
I was looking at IWR's stats this morning when I saw this. IWR would do much better in a regional market like Indiana or maybe New York. He's had several winners that I know of so I don't know why no one would be interested. Last year he got (I think) 30 mares in Kentucky, which isn't too bad considering his circumstances and the competition. His fee is $5K when it really should be $2.5K, though.

I'll take Saxet Heights, Aspenglow, Stopshopping Maria, Jessica is Back, and Almudena (now THAT is an interesting pedigree).
Also, why do color breeders try to sell their horses at
racehorse sales? A bay TB, no matter how good a ~sporthorse~ they are supposed to be, would get laughed out of the ring with a catalog page like this

Oh man, that page has me literally laughing. The sire info: "H F GOLDEN GLOBE (2011). Unraced. Sire of 3 crops of racing age, 7 foals, none to race. Son of Legacy in Gold, unraced, sire of 2 crops, 9 foals, none to race. Grandson of Glitter Please, unraced, sire of 4 crops, 23 foals, none to race."
Gunna be a winner for sure!

They are hoping someone will fall in love simply for color or something. There have been some sporthorse thoroughbreds sold at Keeneland, etc. in the past few years and they usually do get bought by someone. But yeah that pedigree page is like uh ok, never heard of anyone except End Sweep(on the racing thoroughbred side at least).

Your guess as good as mine. The real question is why Frost Queen was accepted. She'll bring $2K at best.
I'd love to see her though.
Notice the daddy is AQHA registered so maybe they should enter their stock there.

The only guess I have is that she’s covered by Risqué Remark so perhaps they expect the resulting foal could be the value draw?

Finally found the Keeneland thread.
Wonder why Pavini (hip 163), only sold for $200,000. She's by Dubawi, and her dam sire is Sadler's Wells. Additionally, she's in foal to American Pharoah. If her physical was not great, hard to think she'd have been approved to be bred by AP. If the mare's owners paid the full $200,000 stud fee, then it means her pedigree is worth nothing? Aside from the fact that she's only four, thus many years of breeding ahead of her.
Can any of the breeding folks explain what might be the situation here?

Finally on correct thread...Treasure Trail in the ring. Dam of Long Island Sound and in foal to Uncle Mo. She's a very handsome mare. $725,000.
ETA: Treasure Trail's War Front filly followed her dam. $185,000.

On the FT thread, Northport asked, "
Am I nuts for thinking that a Tapit half sister to Arrogate is kind of a deal at $750,000?"
In the Bloodhorse article about her sale, the photo shows that the filly is shod on all four feet. Shoes on a WEANLING?
The Comments after the article do not have anything good to say about the practice...or what it might mean about the conformation of the filly's legs.

Between the shoes on a weanling....and the fact Clearsky Farms obviously just bought out the other half of their partnership, with a new partner...... so they were really only paying half money for her.

I think it's an optical illusion. Most likely her feet were painted and it looks like some stone dust footing has adhered.
