Very interesting article that I came across. I seem to remember that perhaps Genuine Reward(Rahy x Genuine Risk) was being offered this way, or another son of Rahy.

If memory serves, Foolish pleasure also pasture bred mares late in his career...I've also read that Genuine reward, like FP could be quite difficult to handle. Wonder how much that had to do with the decision to pasture breed?

I'm sure it plays a factor. With Storm Cat- not sure when they went to this- but they would just go out to the paddock, grab him, bred him and turn him back out. The grooms like to make sure that their charges are clean and shiny before heading to the shed, but not so much for the King. He did things his own way, and left a legacy.
