It would appear that the Phipps stable is parting with a LOT of their boys.
I hope all those well-bred fellows find a farm at which to stand. You can't do much better than a Hard Spun, Candy Ride or War Front horse with Personal Ensign on his female side.

Timing truly is everything... can't wait to see what this little filly brings. Personally love Two Step Salsa and think he will be a very handy sire.

Not really shocking. They would have sold them either way. Its strange to see them in a sale though, they seem to mostly sell privately. Everyone I looked at was 4 to 6, most not that successful on the track.BaroqueAgain1 wrote:It would appear that the Phipps stable is parting with a LOT of their boys.

The thing with stallions from Personal Ensign's line, they haven't done great. I'm always hoping for one to really step up because I truly love to follow this family. I thought Our Emblem was going to be the one but after initial success, being sold for a lot of money, he didn't do anything.

Just over 900,000 for the four horses. Snap Decision was withdrawn and Bokeelia Island didn't sell. Gives a little bit of pocket money for the yearling sale in September.Flanders wrote: The highest price that I caught before that was Fire Away for $450,000.

Hip 443, Fire Away, winner of the G3 Dixie Stakes, sells to Joseph Brocklebank, agent for Form Bloodstock, for $450k. He'll be sent to South Africa to begin his stud career. Unlikely to race again. #FTJulyHORA

Probably not much interest in the US for a stallion of his pedigree, unfortunately.Starine wrote:I heard that intact grade I winner Wake Forest went for $90k.

One Liner, winner of last year's Southwest Stakes and 2nd this year in the Pimlico Special sold for $400K to Whispering Oaks. I hope they'll race him out this year and maybe next. I'm sure he's a stallion prospect for them.
Mississippi, 3YO who finished 3rd in the FL Derby, sold for $190K.

Mississippi (Pioneerof the Nile x Katz Me If You Can) sold for $700,000 as a two-year-old. Ouch.
