Adlerflug (In The Wings - Aiyana, by Last Tycoon) sired his first G1 winner when Iquitos won the Grosser Preis von Baden (Ger-I). Alderflug won the German Derby in 2007. His first crop was born in 2011 and he is off to a promising start with 9 SWs(8%) from 117 foals of racing age.

What I find really interesting is that his 2nd dam, Alya, is a full sister to Allegretta, the dam of Urban Sea.

It will be really fun watching to see how he does in the future. Plus he is gorgeous, the following link has a slideshow of pics of him.

He had a huge day, his son Moonshiner also won the G3 Prix du Lutece on the same card.

He's absolutely gorgeous. The ultimate flashy Chestnut.

He had a great week, as just a couple of days before that his 3yo son Savoir Vivre won the G2 Grand Prix de Deauville against older horses. Savoir Vivre is out of a half-sister to Stacelita's dam from one of German racing's best families btw.

I believe "adlerflug" means "eagle flight" or "flight of eagles" in German. If so, that is so very appropriate!

BTW (Totally overlooked that yesterday)... Iquitos is not Adlerflug's first G1 winner. Ito was the first when he won last year's 'Grosser Preis von Bayern' in Munich.

His son Ito finished 2nd to Silverwave in the G2 Prix Foy at Chantilly a few minutes ago.
