Sometimes I get my funny bone hit on other boards.
There's a breeder trying to register a foal with white hair near its tail and on the tail with no grey closer than 4 generations back as a grey. The JC pretty much told him it was impossible. How do you breed without knowing grey is a dominant gene? Several breeders have gone to great lengths explaining what rabicano is.

I feel your pain! Coat colour genetics and inheritance is pretty simple for the grey horses.
That said, just clicking on the grey box would have been much easier than having to describe all the white on my 2014 colt! He is a heavily marked rabicano, and his description for his papers is an essay! But as the product of a bay father, and a chestnut mother - he is definitely a chestnut, and not grey!
