according to pedigreequery (so take it with a grain of salt) he's not a TB?

how would the jockey club have accepted him?

National Hunt horses don't have to be thoroughbred, though most have thoroughbred blood. French-bred jumpers can be Selle Francais or AQPS("Autre Que Pur-Sang"), translated as "Other than thoroughbred". AQPS has a stud book and its specifically for French Chasers.

I'm not sure on international rules. They can race in US steeplechase races as long as they have a racing permit, which means they are registered as thoroughbred to race, but not to breed.
They could go back to France and be used for AQPS breeding, with the resulting foals being allowed to race.

Per note on Pedigree Query, this horse isn't a thoroughbred, so obviously not. (And no, his name does indeed not come up in a JC name search.)

ahh, i wasn't aware the national hunt had a registry, i was looking at his info and thought the races listed were just jockey club registered horse races.

sorry about that, but thanks for clearing it up.

Interestingly he IS on the Equineline page though, which is run by the Jockey Club. But his dam is listed as an Anglo Arabian.
