Oh - hope the filly is ok.

I'm always interested in looking at the bottom rungs of sales.. .horses that bring little to nothing and by just looking at pages you'd think would be worth more. Would love to know if anyone here had a chance to look at these and see what might be a reason for the low price. A few through Session 7 that caught my eye:

$1,000 - Hip 899 - F Macho Uno x Glorita - dam has produced winners already
$2,000 - Hip 1296 - F Hard Spun x Ennis Lady - winning dam, full sister to G3 winner Despite the Odds.
$3,000 - Hip 1746 - F Curlin x Fuhrleen - dam is a full sister to Wando
$7,000 - Hip 1637 - F Arch x Big Shoes - dam is a full sister to Island Fashion, dam has 3 winners already
$7,000 - Hip 1720 - C Bernardini x Exciting Times - half to Gorella

Anything War Front sold pretty damn well. The cheapest one I saw the first 4 days was 150k, and that's still almost 2x the stud fee. I can't wait to see what his yearling sales average is, lol. I think his fee will go up to at least 100k next spring.

I'm wondering about a few hips, too.

Like 1738 who went for $3k, no reserve. A filly by Hard Spun whose dam is a half to Storming Home. One of the filly's siblings already produced stakes winner Judy In Disguise.

Did she have three legs or something?

She probably failed the vet exam, or her physical was simply atrocious. That's all I can think of. Or her dam could have 8 foals, two raced, no winners. Just some examples.

From last week, hip 466, a filly by Giant's Causeway out of Snow Forest, is very flashy. Chestnut, blaze, four stockings (at least two that went above her knees). She went for $70,000 to Mark Johnston. Anyone else notice this pretty girl (named Think Snow)?

I only watched a few of go through the ring on the live stream, but I happened to catch a filly who is half to two time Japanese Champion and successful sire Symboli Kris S RNA at 95,000. Anyone know if there was something physically wrong or do american breeders/owners just not find that appealing?

Here is a pic... I am not a conformation expert but are there some major flaws?

She looks over at the knee. And her hip/butt end is higher than the withers. Might be going through one of those awkward growth phases.

Giant's Causeway is a world class sire, but most of, if not all of his yearlings are selling for what I'd call cheap. They look alright to me, I don't get it, it seems like they're not making the stud fee back

With that being said, if I had $100k, I'd buy a GC filly, in a heartbeat.
