So, while investigating the Cigar rumor floating around I saw a second rumor making the rounds that Claiborne got hit by a tornado -- anyone know if this is true and, if so, how much was damage was done??

I read that it was in the area of Claiborne.

The video I saw showed a lot of buildings in the vicinity, so it may have been in the downtown area of Paris.

I haven't heard if Claiborne was hit, but I know the downtown area was hammered pretty good.

Here is a link to the tornado video, very obvious it was a tornado:

Here is another video of the tornado in Paris:

And here is one of the most humorous videos from yesterday, taken right up the road from my home outside of Cynthiana:

After reading some of the comments, like, "Don't let people outside of Kentucky see this" I was able to to see some humor in what was a pretty scarey situation yesterday afternoon.

I remember seeing something on Ray Paulick's FB page that Claiborne was hit but there were no injuries. Only damage was in the paddocks. Adena also had limbs down but otherwise OK. Looks like most of the damage in that area was to the town of Paris. The farms in the area got lucky.

I hope Denali is ok- that is in Paris as well. Damage to the paddocks is one thing, it could have been worse.

No one on Paulick's page said anything about Denali. Don't know if that's because nothing happened or that no one participating in that conversation is connected to them. Claiborne just posted this picture and reiterated that no animals or people were injured

ETA: Old Friends just posted that Michael Blowen had gone out to check on horses during the storms. All are well there (including Michael!)

Thanks for the updates, everyone!

I don't say this often, but right now I'm glad I don't live there anymore! :D

Craig Bandoroff tweeted a pic of one of Denali's barns that was destroyed, but sounds like no living casualties there, either. Thank goodness.

Thank goodness all were safe. Was reading coverage earlier and it looks like there were injuries but no fatalities at all in that area.

They had barn damage. Don't know about animals, but would guess everything is mostly fine in that regard, since most would be out. I wouldn't worry.

Perhaps even nature raged at the passing of CIGAR. I hope no human or animal was injured.
