The White Witch is #66- some would say this one needs another digit on the end (another 6).

Hip #1638, See Ya Signe is a young Broodmare Prospect with Gr1 black-type in first 3 DAMS.
She is also by Sea The Stars, sire of Gr1 stakes winners in his first 2 crops.

You have to think there's a reason why a young mare with that pedigree is cataloged in Book 3, though.

Silly question probably: Would someone totally new to the breeding game get their entries relegated to less good books than if they were established breeders?

Noticing many of the mares that Adena is cataloging are selling with a NG 2015 season to one of their stallions. I can't recall seeing this before?

Interestingly, she's not a witch around the barn since she's been retired. One wonders if her bad disposition was exaggerated or if being out in the paddock changed her demeanor.
Could very well be, some do indeed mellow after coming off the track.

It is not a new incentive to include a breed back, with no guarantee, to help sell a mare.
I recall mares being sold as far back as the mid 70s being offered with a breed back incentive.
Some would also offer a breed back if the in foal mare didn't carry a foal full term.

The sales company selects the first letter of the dam's name to start and end the sale alphabetically.
If you look at the names of the dams in the catalog this year you'll notice it begins with "T".
This was done many years ago so as to be more fair to consignors by not playing favorites.
Then they apply criteria that qualifies the stock to be graded and placed in a sequential order of importance to be auctioned.

But wouldn't that very thing - the criteria that qualify the grading of the stock - result in some individuals produced by new breeders/little known stallions to be moved towards the later books rather than Book 1 or 2?

Years ago, I can't recall exactly when, but I would say mid to late 90s or early 2000s, Adena used to sell a bunch of mares at one of the November sales. So many that they had their own catalog. These always sold with a breed back option to one of the stallions listed on that mares page. This was when Adena was trying to promote new stallions.

A couple of years ago, Ramsey sold a few broodmares at FT with seasons to Kitten's Joy. They were all mares with proven produce by KJ.

I know someone very interested in buying Harlington for stud here in the USA. I'm crossing my fingers and toes he'll get him because it would mean I'd get to see him every day :)

Count me in as hoping- would be nice to have someone on the inside where he is- he is one very handsome dude. Uzziel will be running in the LA Woman tomorrow at Santa Anita- best runner so far- would be nice for her to be a graded stakes winner or at least graded stakes placed. She has won 2 stakes so far

When I handicapped that race, I actually came up with Uzziel winning. I remember liking Harlington when he ran, but until he showed up in the catalog, I had no idea what had happened to him.
