IT’S the equine equivalent to the birth of Prince George.

Champion mare Black Caviar is attracting attention with the pending arrival of her first foal.

Black Caviar was retired from racing in April last year after being unbeaten in 25 starts, which won her owners almost $8 million.

The daughter of Bel Esprit is due to give birth on Thursday week, but the foal could arrive any day.

"Black Caviar is being cared for at a secret location in New South Wales."

Can't wait to see how this foal turns out. Curious as to why she's at a secret location.

Maybe the breeding farm didn't want her hordes of fans +/or paparazzi bombarding the farm with emails or calls asking about her? Or showing up along the fences hoping to catch a glimpse or take a photo?

That's what I was thinking, too, but then neither Rachel nor Zen were at secret locations.
Of course, BC likely is a much bigger deal in Australia than Rachel or Z were here. :)

To keep the crazies away. Because let's be honest, if SOME(key word) of her fans act like SOME of the fans of Rachel and Zenyatta, the farm would be called non-stop by "fans" asking for updates or just to bash them. If reading the comments on Facebook and blogs, on Rachel and Zenyatta, has taught me anything, its that there will be people out there that think she has done enough and doesn't need to have foals. That she should just be retired someplace where her "fans" can have access to her.

Ha, true that. Some fans, as you said, make unreasonable demands. That's why I don't read Facebook comments about either Rachel or Zen. :)
