He was always my favorite from that crop, though I enjoyed the other big two as well. Hard Spun was always my choice. I was sad when he retired at 3 but since he is giving us good kids to follow, I'm happy. I think its awesome that all his G1SWs are at 8.5f+.

2007 was the last time I was really excited about a crop. Those 3 would have been standouts in most of the recent years if they wouldn't have been there in the same year. So it doesn't surprise me that much to see that they are all doing well at stud (yeah I know success on the track doesn't equal success in the shed, but those 3 ticked all the boxes in their careers).

TVG's Rich Perloff, who delves into pedigree more than most of the other on-air talent, was most excited about Hard Spun's prospects when the colt went to stud. He thought that, as a son of Danzig, his offspring could excel on any surface, and going short or long.
It's looking like Rich's faith in the young stallion was justified.
