Barretts Two Year Old Sale Surprise

It's good to see the averages continue to climb, but I was really surprised at the contrasting fortunes of two of the fastest breezers. Hip 104, a son of Giants Causeway sold for nearly $1.2m, whilst hip 93, a son of Street Cry sold for a paltry $100,000. Does anyone know why this second colt sold so poorly, bearing in mind that he is by Street Cry out of Careless Jewel (one of Tapit's best daughters)? I'm guessing there must be conformation issues, but it didn't stop him breezing really fast.

I saw a picture of the Careless Jewel colt (posted on pedigree query forum) and he didn't have a great physical.

The Malibu Moon filly that Pletcher signed for was something to look at. Absolutely beautiful and a huge ground-covering stride.

Also, is $100,000 paltry?

Disclaimer: I know nothing about the actual colt in question!

But generally speaking when a horse with that kind of pedigree and work sells "poorly" at a 2yo sale, it means that something broke during the work.

This links to a video of the steel grey Street Cry/Careless Jewel colt. What do you more expert conformation folks out there think of him?

This would make sense and a real shame if true. I hope Careless Jewel has come out of her op well (following the loss of her 2014 foal).

Whoever's Twitter account that is, he took a picture of the grey colt:

Back at the knee. Small. Maybe didn't vet well?
His cannons look a bit long and fine-boned.
He also looks sickle-hocked.

3 colts tied for fastest time in the works. The 3rd, #48, by Malibu Moon, sold for $550K.

FWIW, I was told by a reporter there that "the word" was that the Careless Jewel colt did not vet well.
