It's Tapit's World.

We're just honored to be living in it.

Yes. But can they get a mile and a quarter?

It's February, and I wouldn't count out War Front. ;)

How long before Zen's and Rachel's Tapit kids hit the track? The anticipation for those two is going to be off the charts.

Oh, I agree, $400,000 is a LOT too much for him...but so is $150,000. They are both listed at $150,000...if you look at the top 5 right now, Candy Ride is a steal at $35,000(if you can actually get to him for that). The top two from last year are 14th and 17th respectively right now.

War Front was 5th for All Sires in 2013. Tapit was 7th. They were pretty close to each other. War Front is definitely slow to start this year.

I'd be happy owning a mare in foal to either one right now, that's for sure.

Maybe we should bookmark this topic until Dec 31, 2014, see what the end of year looks like! ;)

Well Zenyatta's is just a yearling whilst Rachel Alexandra never had a Tapit baby.

They both had babies by Bernardini. Zenyatta's (Cozmic One, a colt) is 2 and Rachel's (an un-named filly) is a yearling.

I adore Tapit and his offspring and look forward to the racing year for his babies.(though i had a heart attack at the subject line, thought something had happened)

War Front really isn't slow to start this year. He has 3 Stakes Winners from 40 starters. Quite a few of his runners are also in Europe, which doesn't start their flat season until usually the end of March. He also has a lot smaller crops that Tapit.

Wait til War Front's crops show up from his really good mares. He's still operating on the crops when he stood for $15,000 (and less, I heard) and didnt get top mares.

I would never have predicted either Tapit or War Front to have done what they did. Thats what makes breeding so friggin fun...you just never know who is going to "do it".

They are doing it.

Headache won the Hawthorne Gold Cup, Rattlesnake Bridge was beat a length by Stay Thirsty in the Travers, Oilisblackgold ran second in the Tokyo City Cup at 1 1/2 miles. As few chances as horses have to run 1 1/4, seems like they have no problem with it.

Oh duh...again. My forehead is going to have a permanent red mark from palm-slapping myself.
I forgot that Rachel's first foal was by Curlin, and then she went to Bernardini.
Speaking of that Curlin colt, have there been any updates/photos of Jess's Dream?

When comparing Tapit with War Front (disclaimer: I love both stallions) you have to remember that Tapit has more than double the number of foals than War Front does. War Front has 40 runners (we are still in his smaller, less quality mare crops) and Tapit has 128 runners, and we are getting to the crops where he was starting to get really good mares. I think both are tremendous success stories.

And we have both Tapit and War Front foals from Zenyatta to look forward too!

Is it OK if I'm mostly excited about Precious Kitten's Tapit colt, who's now 2? Although, her first 2 foals haven't made it to the track, so I'm not getting overly optimistic about this one (who remains unnamed).

I don't dispute he's having a sensational year, BUT, can a Tapit get 10 furlongs?
