He's passed a lot of horses. Just not all of them.

Has Zenyatta's filly been named yet? I noticed there is a "Princess of Delmar" on reserve and it got me thinking about Zen's filly
There are other things that I could do, but there's really nothing that I love as much as horse racing. Chantal Sutherland

They were still calling her 17Z in the blog a few weeks ago, haven't seen any announcement.

I'm not sure 'Princess of Del Mar' is the perfect fit. Didn't John S. say that the Big Z really didn't like Del Mar? Yeah, she won over it, but she did that a lot, wherever she ran. :P ;)

With the Moss divorce, how do they determine ownership on the horses like Z and subsequent foals? I know anything would just be a mere guess, but it is interesting to ponder that we could see these horses pass through a dispersal at some point.

I cannot imagine Ann allowing anything to happen to Zenyatta. She still will own the Zenyatta website.

If the divorce gets messy it may be up to a judge what happens with their assests.

December at Lane’s End: Part 2
Catching up with Zenyatta’s 2017 Medaglia d’Oro filly was one of the highlights of our December trip to Lane’s End Farm. It’s clear that she and her three paddock mates have a strong bond, and it’s a joy to see them out in the field together. As promised, here are lots of photos!
Part one of this post, with our photos of Zenyatta, can be found here.

Love the shaggy winter coats.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Cute as a button! She doesn’t look overly big, and I’m having a hard time seeing Zenyatta in her, but she is darling.

That's a gorgeous little filly, but it's only to be expected when her daddy is basically the super model of Thoroughbred stallions. She does look far more like MDO than Zenyatta to me. She's even got the white around one eye that MDO has and often passes down to his kids. (It's not as prominent as Rachel's, but it's visible in those two headshots.)

I honestly have half wondered if this is why Coz is still training/running. He's an asset to be divided in the divorce (which tbh, he needs to be gelded and made into a nice hunter pony).

Holy moly, imagine if as part of the divorce settlement they have to sell Zenyatta. I mean, so far she's been a flop as a producer (breeding her to the wrong stallions, imho), but as a collectors item? Get your checkbook out, Mandy!!!!
Unless she has a few more, I seriously doubt any of her sons will be gelded or sold (unless maybe in partnership at stud).
Hindsight is always 20/20 but bia was pretty close... eventing instead of hunter/jumper is not bad at all ;)
(I came across this post in the search function looking for something else... apologies for the random bump)

bia: "...he needs to be gelded and made into a nice hunter pony"

IIRC, 'Coz is 17.2 hands. I couldn't describe him as a 'pony,' no matter what the discipline.

a friend at my barn rides a 17.2 behemoth that she refers to alternately as "pony" and "petit poulet" (which means 'little chicken' in French as a term of endearment) :D
kinda like how even huge old dogs are 'puppies' to some people.

I checked the official Zenyatta site and even the forum posters there have no news. In fact, it appears that there is very little new information being posted on that site since some photos on April 1st, her birthday.
Maybe part of the fall-out from the divorce? :?

If its on Equineline, which is the Jockey Club, I would take it as fact.

I wonder if they bred her back or if they are giving her another year off?
