Majician & Camelot are very nice looking horses, as is Rattlesnake Bridge. Rookie Sensation is okay but I've never heard of him. Why does Mucho Macho Man look so stiff and thin? He really needs to fill out still. First Dude looking good too.
Golden Ticket needs about a year to change, he is not very attractive, but he ran like hell, I'll give him that!

I think he won a graded stakes on the Breeders Cup undercard in 2014 at Santa Anita, that was pretty much the only time I ever heard of him. He has nice breeding.RuffiantoRags wrote:Rookie Sensation is okay but I've never heard of him. Why does Mucho Macho Man look so stiff and thin? He really needs to fill out still.
Mucho Macho Man has always been thin. Some animals just don't fill out. My friends have a boxer that looks like he is starving but he can eat all he wants and there vet said he is fine being the weight he is. I'd much rather see horses looking like Mucho Macho Man than being ginormously fat.

Hmm, he doesn't look that much to me -- but maybe the trees in the background are throwing me off, it's hard to get a read on his topline.Izvestia wrote:First Dude is very uphill.
Whatever he is, I have a wild fondness for him. Big, chunky guy, lots of bone, a huge noggin. He can come live with me if his stud career takes a dive!
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

He looks near perfectly even. Putting a straight line horizontally there is like 1mm of his butt that is higher.Insane Crazy wrote:Hmm, he doesn't look that much to me -- but maybe the trees in the background are throwing me off, it's hard to get a read on his topline.Izvestia wrote:First Dude is very uphill.

I was going to say he even looks kinda downhill, but I worried I was crazy.Treve wrote:He looks near perfectly even. In that case hahaha! I was thinking "if anything he gives the illusion of being downhill, but then when I squinted and looked at his withers vs his butt they seemed fairly even.Insane Crazy wrote:Ah ha! I really want to like this horse, loved him as a race horse. This picture is just horrible, he seems not interested in posing, his head is too low, too much in the background, and I think he needs more weight. I hope he turns into a useful sire.mariasmon wrote:Mucho Macho Man

I never comment on conformation pictures but I have to say that I have the exact opposite reaction to that photo.
I love seeing a stallion who looks fit and ready to run. He's a beautifully balanced horse and I love his layback of shoulder and great hip. He's got a nice topline and a well shaped neck. Once I've formed that initial opinion, then I begin to nitpick. In this picture it appears as though his pasterns are a little upright and he might be slightly sickle hocked. I wish his hooves had more heel (not necessarily his fault.) Judging by the picture, I probably wouldn't want to take a light-boned mare to him.
All in all, that picture is definitely appealing enough to pique my interest and make me want to go see the stallion in person. So for me, it fulfills its function perfectly.

My first thought of Mucho Macho Man was that he was deceptively plain. He certainly doesn't look like the striking, beefy, cresty guys that get a lot of attention here. But his conformation is quite nice, he's very balanced, and very functional. The more I look, the more I like.
I showed him to a friend and her response was, "He's a greyhound." He looks ready to run.

I like my Thoroughbred's long and leggy - and Mucho Macho Man is what I like to see. He reminds me of the big steeplechase horses a friend of mine has in England (minus the horrible head). Other than being a bit on the thin side, he has a good frame to fill into (imo). He's got a nice topline, a lovely neck set (although his neck is skinny, it's a nice length), and a strong shoulder and hindend. I'd send him to a mare who throws correct babies, and yes, with some bone. I think he's quite elegant, but I also don't like the Quarter Horse-type Thoroughbreds.

The photo of Mucho Macho Man is really nice, IMHO. The lighting is nice and the horse is standing well. I don't like Photoshopping the shank out of pictures. It's silly. Everyone knows the horse isn't just randomly standing there behind the barn. He may not be 100% perfect, but he looks like an athlete.

That is quite the filter on that photo!Le Beau Bai wrote:One of Fast Anna from TDN yesterday...
As for Mucho Macho Man, I think he is a horse who would appeal to European breeders. I like him actually and I think some stallions are just overly big, he looks fit. I do think though that they could have tried to get his neck to lift a bit, it looks a bit displaced in my opinion.
