Japan's reigning Horse of the Year Almond Eye(JPN), 2015F. Lord Kanaloa(JPN) x Fusaichi Pandora(JPN) by Sunday Silnece(USA), won the Tenno Sho Autumn 2000m turf at Tokyo easily dominating a very strong filed which included ten G1 winners on Oct 27th 2019.

The 2017 champion juvenile filly Lucky Lilac(JPN), 2015F. Orfevre(JPN) x Lilacs and Lace(USA) by Flower Alley(USA), finally returned to winning ways as she captured her second G1 title in the Queen Elizabeth II Cup 2200m turf at Kyoto under Christophe Soumillon on Nov 10th 2019.

Soumillon, who had missed an Arc victory with Orfevre, said after the race; ''It was some kind of fate that I rode the daughter of Orfevre today and I'm very happy to win a G1 with her.''

Orfevre, 3rd crop sire, sired two G1 winners (Lucky Lilac and Satsuki Sho winner Epoca d'Oro) from his first crop.
He had a tough time finding mares this breeding season as his winners-to-runners ratio in JRA was disappointing with his first crop.
But it does look like his winners ratio has been improving since this Spring with his second & third crop.
And Lucky Lilac's renewed success at 4 here should give a significant boost to the sire's reputation.
I'm pretty sure that he will be able to re-establish himself as a star stallion at Shadai.
By the great Stay Gold, Orfevre is such a lovely horse with huge fan followings around the world.

Hopefully the 55 mares he did get this year will produce good runners/sales foals... but Shadai can afford to be patient with him, too, so there's that.

Stay Gold has been believed to be the stallion who passes on the best stamina influence from his sire Sunday Silence.
But he has now sired a real champion miler in his latest crop. (Indy Champ was born in 2015. Stay Gold produced only one foal in 2016)

Heart's Cry does it again!

Suave Richard(JPN), 2014C. Heart's Cry(JPN) x Pirramimma(USA) by Unbridled's Song(USA), captured his much-awaited second G1 title under Oisin Murphy surging through near the rail in the G1 Japan Cup 2400m turf at Tokyo on Nov 24th 2019.
Oisin Murphy gave his horse a perfect ride! and I believe that Suave Richard has now punched his ticket to stand at Shadai Stallion Station as a Heart's Cry's successor when he retires from racing.

“I suppose it’s a dream come true to have won this race. I was happy with Suave Richard in his gallops and he felt
brilliant—Japan Cup is one of the most famous races around the world and it’s very hard to win so I wasn’t
confident but very hopeful.

Suave Richard has got a lot of quality, he’s a very good mover with a lot of pace—if you’ve seen his gallops he
does incredible times. As for race plans, first of all I looked at the draw and I saw that Curren Bouquetd’or was in
one—she’s a very good filly— Wagnerian was in two, (Christophe) Lemaire was in four and Yasunori Iwata was in
six. So all the good horses, in my mind, were around me….it was about getting behind one of them, following the
right one, getting the horse to relax, and then give him every chance. (As a result) I was following Curren
Bouquetd’or—she was the one travelling as well as me, turning into the straight and she had a very good trip (she
is trained by my trainer, Sakae Kunieda, maybe if I was not so fat I could do 53 kilos and rode her and might not
have won the Japan Cup today (laugh)). Suave Richard has a lot of quality and I was very happy with my
positioning into the first turn. The most important thing was for him to relax. The ground was hard work today and
when the ground is slow, you can’t waste energy. (At the straight) I had the option of forcing Curren Bouquetd’or
out –that would have taken a bit of energy but he’s a big enough horse to do that—but then I saw the inside open, it
was easier to go the shortest way. I knew in the last 200 meters that Suave Richard would win. On this ground,
horses get very tired and so I just wanted him to keep on going and after a big race it’s very hard to immediately
understand how important it is, but sure the Japan Cup for me is one of the best races in the world and I won’t sleep
for a week. It’s a big relief (to have won my first big title here in Japan) as I want to win group ones all over the
world, and it’s…super. Japanese horses are my friends and I hope they will be my friends for many years to come.
The quality in Japan is really high and the world stage will be hearing a lot more about Japanese horses. I would
love to win many more G1’s in Japan but it’s very hard to win—I rode in the Epsom Derby when I was 18 but I
didn’t win my first G1 until I think I was 21 or 22.”

Gold Allure(JPN) once again proved himself the best dirt stallion in Japan among Sunday Silence sons!!

Chrysoberyl(JPN), 2016C. Gold Allure(JPN) x Chrysoprase(JPN) by El Condor Pasa(USA), claimed the G1 Champions Cup 1800m dirt at Chukyo with race record time of 1:48.5 and extending his unbeaten six-race winning streak on Dec 1st 2019.
Chrysoprase is an amazing broodmare, too, already producing 4 stakes winners including 2 G1 winners.
