I really thought she might stay long enough to foal and be bred back to another European stallion before traveling to Japan, but clearly they want to breed her to one of the many fine stallions available there.

Yeah, her owner Katsumi Yoshida wants to boost his stallions standing at Shadai Stallion Station in the first place and that's the main reason why he has been buying top broodmares from all over the world.
Katsumi Yoshida may also want to make her babies (including her Kingman's) highlights of the JRHA Select Sale.

Swiss Skydiver is a More Than Ready line (Halo line) broodmare.
There have been relatively small number of More Than Ready broodmares imported to Japan so far, none of which produced any graded stakes winner in Japan yet. (Cafe Pharoah is a US bred).
But I personally don't see any reason why Swiss Skydiver won't be successful in Japan.
