''Carlton House owned by Queen Elizabeth II retired to stud''

Trainer Gai Waterhouse this morning confirmed Carlton House will be retired immediately to stand the coming spring breeding season at Darley Stud in the Hunter Valley.

Carlton House ran third in the 2011 English Derby and second to Aussie champion So You Think in the 2012 Prince of Wales Stakes at Royal Ascot before the Queen sent the horse to Australia for Waterhouse to train.

Am I the only one that thinks that Carleton House at A$16,500 is a little optimistic?

And another one leaves the US, bound for Japan. Dunkirk has been sold

He had been doing fairly well for himself with his runners, so I must say I am sad to see him go.

SFR: A coup for SA breeding!

Soft Falling Rain(SAF) has been secured for stud by Mary Slack’s Wilgerbosdrift Farm. The lightly-raced five-year-old will be returning to South Africa shortly to take up stallion duties.

Mike commented: “This is a coup for the South African breeding industry. Soft Falling Rain was a world class sprinter-miler and will bring a valuable pedigree, remarkable versatility and true international quality to our community of breeders.

Didn't they just state at the beginning of the month he was in training for a possible come back?
That sucks. He was just getting good over here when he got injured.

I put the article in Google translate- and it came out like this:

"ara stud Gus May Fer and the turf is bad news. For Haras La Quebrada, where he was raised, and the turf-again is good news. Point Indy was removed and serve as a stallion from the same season in the cottage Ceriani Cernadas family.

After his excellent third in the Breeders' Cup Turf (G 1-2400 m), Santa Anita, California, in late November, Felipe Lovisi horse returned to Argentina to recover from an injury in a entrecuerda.

After a break of six months at La Quebrada, Indy Point was taken to stud Ramallo Raul, his former home in La Plata, and made his first serious exercise last Saturday (49s to 800 m, as desired).

There was an assessment that was made yesterday. "In the outer zone of the left hand not seen anything unusual, but an ultrasound showed that there was a problem on the line," said Hector Silva, your veterinarian.

Who is also chairman of the racing commission Forest he meant the tendon that runs from the knee to the knot, adding that it is a mild (inflammation) injury and had nothing to do with the previous illness.

Indy Point is the son of Indygo Shiner He died almost a year ago, exactly in La Quebrada-and Red Point (Parade Marshal), and was named Horse of the Year for his performance in 2012, when he nearly won the Triple Crown (he won the Jockey Club and the National and was second in the cock Colts) and escorted Going Somewhere in Pellegrini."

All rights to the farm- this is there FB cover

Wowza, that is some translation. So, what I understand from that is that they were bringing him back, but another injury (a tendon!) flared up, so he has been retired.
He is a gorgeous chunk of horse flesh! Hopefully he can fill the space Indygo Shiner left.

Indeed it is. Spanish is not all that bad, when I use google translate for Japanese, it is very interesting.

I'm hoping that he will take up his sires mantle.

Magna Graduate is relocating to Woodford Thoroughbreds in FL from Darby Dan. Mark Valeski will also enter stud there next year. Although he is standing as property of Woodford, Airdrie plans to support Mark Valeski with around 15 mares each season.
