It looks like Three Chimneys might finally have a homegrown stallion prospect in Gun Runner though… after many years of trying.

Heyyy look at War Front hitting it at 73%. That's not bad. Of the 60 mares reported in foal to him, I only have 46 names, so it's time to hunt for the rest.
ETA - whoops, failed to read the year and saw that this is last year, not this year.

The 2021 figures haven't been released yet. They should be later this week if the Jockey Club sticks to the same timeline as past years.flytpthestars wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 8:01 pmDont see the 2021 figures of reports of mares bred yet. How many did he have?

I figured it was a curse for any big name stallion going there.
Initial $100,000+ stud fee HOTY winners who all flopped there.... Silver Charm, Smarty Jones, Point Given....

I'm pleasantly surprised to see that Einstein has a son at stud.Mylute wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 9:04 pm New to California to 2022:
GSP American Pastime (Tapizar) - Milky Way Farm
SW Tap Back (Einstein) - Barton Thoroughbreds
MGSP Sawyer's Hill (Spring At Last) - Milky Way Thoroughbreds
Sawyer's Hill (half to Yaupon) was listed as being new for 2021 but is now listed as 2022.

I wish Einstein had done better at stud; this son of Spend a Buck should have been a valuable outcross for all the UBS/A.P. Indy/Mr. Prospector bloodlines. Maybe a son with Tapit as a damsire will interest breeders.

2019 JRA Dirt champion Chrysoberyl(JPN)(Gold Allure) has been retired from racing and will stand at Shadai Stallion Station.
I suspect that he will be a popular stallion as the successor of Gold Allure(JPN), one of the best sons of Sunday Silence, who passed away in 2017.

I can't believe he was still breeding up until now. His full sister, Golden Attraction, was one of my favorites when she was racing.Flanders wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 6:15 pm Cape Canaveral has been pensioned.

I was hoping for a *hot* name. But most of their recent acquisitions seem to be middling - like Performer, Lea, Ironicus.TapitsGal wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 3:35 pmMay I ask why?PersonalE wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 11:51 am Silver State to Claiborne.

Silver Slate isn’t a G1 winner but does have the Danzig line. Would have thought they would have also had another war front son in addition to war of will. At Spendthrift they had multiple sons of into mischief.

He won the G1 Metropolitan Handicap, beating Knicks Go, during a six-race winning streak. I've seen worse horses go to stud.

I loved following Seaside Attraction's foals. Any owner would envy having a mare who can produce 4 GSWs, but that she did it from only 5 foals is amazing. That she produced 2 G1SWs, including an Eclipse champion, plus 2 other GSWs is phenomenal. I think her fabulous production record gets forgotten. Both her daughters produced stakes winners and all of her sons went to stud and sired GSWs. Unfortunately, her oldest daughter, Red Carnival, who was the only one Overbrook sold, shared her dam's fate, dying extremely young and produced 3 foals and 3 GSWs.starrydreamer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 12:10 pmI can't believe he was still breeding up until now. Claiborne doesn't have the buying power to get a big name horse unless the owner specifically seeks them out or its a client they are close with. It all comes down to, they don't breed their stallions to huge books. Maybe that will change in a few years when the cap on stallion books goes into effect, as its only for stallions born in 2020 and later.PersonalE wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 4:22 pmI was hoping for a *hot* name. Performer and Lea they were part owner of and Ironicus was raced by a close client.
