He is a 3yo son of Speightstown out of Letgomyecho, making him a half brother to J Boys Echo. He also won the H. Allen Jerkens S. (G1) and was 2nd in the Woody Stephens (G1). He hasn't won anything since the Allen Jerkins nor do I recall reading that they bought breeding rights but weirder things have happened.

He was the 2019 Kentucky Derby winner and instead of being the winner for 12 months, he was the reigning Derby winner from May 2019 until September 2020.

Oh ok- didn’t think about the date change. That makes sense. Too many zooms/webinars (26) at work this week- brain a bit fried.CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 2:57 pmHe was the 2019 Kentucky Derby winner and instead of being the winner for 12 months, he was the reigning Derby winner from May 2019 until September 2020.

For $25,000 I'm afraid they may be a little too optimistic, but if anyone can make him a star, it's Lane's End.Mylute wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 3:19 pm Daredevil Returns, to stand at Lane's End

So he is only standing in the USA on the behalf of Turkey's Jockey Club, though I assume there are still US shareholders.

Jockey Club of Turkey owns him in full. They kept complete ownership and picked a farm to stand him at. The second he isn't getting mares, he'll be on the plane to Turkey.

I don’t nesscarily disagree, but after siring the Oaks winner and the Preakness winner in his first crop, what would you price him as?Northport wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 3:26 pmFor $25,000 I'm afraid they may be a little too optimistic, but if anyone can make him a star, it's Lane's End.Mylute wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 3:19 pm Daredevil Returns, to stand at Lane's End

I get the sense this is a short term lease in practice. He will get enough mares this year to make the transfer worth it. He has very small crops coming up, so it will be hard to maintain him in the spotlight, but then Turkey Jockey Club doesn't need that- as it has been said, they will just ship him back to Turkey once the profit margin shrinks. If it doesn't, they are golden. Similar to how Lane's End rented The Factor out to Japan a few years back.KatieK101 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 4:48 pmI don’t nesscarily disagree, but after siring the Oaks winner and the Preakness winner in his first crop, what would you price him as?Northport wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 3:26 pmFor $25,000 I'm afraid they may be a little too optimistic, but if anyone can make him a star, it's Lane's End.Mylute wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 3:19 pm Daredevil Returns, to stand at Lane's End

Considering it's a bit of a recovery mission with him, the economic downturn, and the fact that his 2020 crop has 17 foals, I'd try to fill his book at $15,000 - $20,000.KatieK101 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 4:48 pmI don’t nesscarily disagree, but after siring the Oaks winner and the Preakness winner in his first crop, what would you price him as?Northport wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 3:26 pmFor $25,000 I'm afraid they may be a little too optimistic, but if anyone can make him a star, it's Lane's End.Mylute wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 3:19 pm Daredevil Returns, to stand at Lane's End

Maybe Lane's End's phone has been ringing off the hook for him at $25,000? They are usually pretty spot on in terms of pricing.

Is this the biggest Lane's End's roster has been? Dang.
I'd say of the major "big roster" farms theirs has the highest overall quality.

Wow, $30,000 for Game Winner IS ridiculous...except, I guess it’s not if the horse has been that well received.
Honor A.P. at $15,000 is fair - I like that a lot.
