Nope, she sold to Spendthrift.starrydreamer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:31 pmHammered at $750k. I thought she'd go for more, but maybe buyers had the same thoughts about her looks. Wonder if she'll be an RNA.starrydreamer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 11:20 am Keep your eye out for Hip 253, a filly by Justify out of American Cleopatra (American Pharoah's full sister). I'm not in love with her physically but she's by a Triple Crown winner out of a full sister to a Triple Crown winner.
My bad, I was thinking of the mare's 2021 Curlin colt. Quality Road is very popular right now, so I don't think the different sire will bother buyers too muchPONYRCR wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:27 pmThis colt is by Quality Road, not Curlin, but Quality Road has done well for himself as a stallion, although I think of him more as a filly sire. But the dam certainly seems to throw runners no matter who she's bred to.KatieK101 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 12:43 pmOh, absolutely. Tiznow certainly isn't a slouch as a sire either, but Curlin is on a whole other level. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up the sale topper.PONYRCR wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 12:00 pm i expect hip 300 will light up the board. Quality Road colt out of Catch the Moon. Half sib to 4 graded stake winners including Midnight Bourbon. Dam has thrown 4 graded stakes winners from 5 foals of racing age.. Three of the four are by less than stellar stallions. Colonel John. Shanghai Bobby and Tale of Ekati.
After going through today's session, I really believe that it is stronger than yesterday's. Very excited for the fireworks!
Even if she can't run a lick, she'll be a good broodmare addition based on her bloodlines.KatieK101 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:57 pmNope, she sold to Spendthrift.starrydreamer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:31 pmHammered at $750k. RNA.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:41 pm Curious to see if 259, MdO x Arch's Gal Edith filly, lives up to the value shown on her dam side. Mom foaled I'll Have Another, among other stakes horses. $550,000.
I thought the same thing. Spendthrift doesn't have any skin in either Triple Crown winner... can't get much better than Justify, o/o a half to APstarrydreamer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:59 pmEven if she can't run a lick, she'll be a good broodmare addition based on her bloodlines.KatieK101 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:57 pmNope, she sold to Spendthrift.starrydreamer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:31 pm

RNA. I'm not surprised since Arrogate only has two winners in his first crop thus far, whereas Gun Runner already has two G1Ws and more SWs. Although I did expect a few more expensive yearlings from him strictly because of the type of mares he was bred to.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:35 pm 251, an Arrogate colt, sold for only $70,000. I have gotten the impression that his yearlings aren't exactly lighting up the board.![]()
He has two crops, I thought? Maybe not.
His half brother by Justify is Hip 288, about to hit the ring.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 3:12 pm Just did some searching on Bloodhorse; Arrogate had three crops. Maybe his next two will show improvement.
I thought he was a dead ringer for his sire.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 3:19 pm 286, the Quality Road x Brielle's Appeal colt, is a handsome bay. Not a speck of white that I can see...love that. Bids rising, rising....$1,150,000.![]()
