If it's genetic, where in his pedigree does it come from. Just asking as one interested in pedigrees...not questioning your viewpoint.

No news yet (IIRC) on where A Lot, I'm All the Talk, and Oratorio (a different Oratorio than I originally thought) will move to, but Playing God is staying in WA.

Well, Summer Front's off to a good start a stud, isn't he?

Yep! Isn’t it fantastic??? He’s a fabulous looking horse, with a good race record, knocking on the door of a few G1’s, and from a family that has produced some good horses (besides him).

War Front is turning out to be a decent sire of sires, between Summer Front's early success and The Factor and Declaration of War.

Speaking of War Front's sons, where did War Command end up? I know he was standing at Coolmore Ireland but he didn't stand there in 2020 and his name doesn't make it particularly easy to find news.

First winner for California Chrome comes in Russia. It's not Butterfly Bars.

He's a pretty colt with the unusual name of Sunkar TIme. He's out of a mare named Kiosk who was stakes placed and was the Ohio Broodmare of the Year three years running. Also, before anyone discounts a win in Russia, none other than Curlin's first winner also came in Russia. Chrome has offspring in the UK, Russia, South America and Japan in addition to the U.S. So far he's had six runners, and they have accumulated a win, a second and two thirds.

I believe Tonalist's first winner was in Russia as well, and I think Take Charge Indy's was in Mexico, actually.

Thanks for this info, Mylute. It's interesting. :)

Here's a link to a photo of Chrome's first winner. He's a handsome colt who resembles his sire. I would post the picture, but it is too big, so hopefully the link works: https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/ ... e=5F3D3BEC

Apparently the rider is one of the top jockeys in Russia (this from a Russian lady who was kind enough to post the info on FB), and the connections are at the top of the industry in Russia.

For some reason I'm vaguely remembering Curlin's first winner being in either Russia or Turkey as well.......

She refused to load into the gates the week before, so I guess it was to lead her into the starting gates.
