I remember him, he was a really attractive horse. He was a full brother to G1SW Tappiano. The only foal of his I can think of is Galloping Grocer who ran in the 2005 Preakness.

A.P Jet(USA), lovely horse, became a leading sire in NY.
And I do remember someone set up a thread for that accident in ''Whatever Happened To'' forum on TBC those days, for which I posted some comments later.

I was cheering for the NY-bred Galloping Grocer.
He ran into the likes of Rockport Harbor, Bellamy Road, Afleet Alex and so on that year.

Sharing that video of A.P. Indy between Mineshaft and Honor Code. I love it so much. Mineshaft and Honor Code (especially Honor Code) are moving about and being energetic and A.P. Indy just kinda looks at them like, "good grief."

Interesting news on young stallion Bolt D'Oro.

Having serious aggression issues, to the point he missed 2 days in the shed in February, and sent his old racetrack groom to hospital after attacking him.
I see they've downplayed the effect these massive books may have on young stallion's minds. Bred 214 mares last spring in this 1st season at stud, then went to Australia and covered another 100....where he started displaying aggression issues.

I see they've downplayed the effect these massive books may have on young stallion's minds. Bred 214 mares last spring in this 1st season at stud, then went to Australia and covered another 100....where he started displaying aggression issues.

Having followed this forum for years I joined just to post that link so I could hear everyone’s opinions!
I hadn’t heard anything about him being difficult from his time on the track...worrying that he’s only 5 and already showing behaviour that severe!

I am not sure how much the quantity really matters- I really think it all comes down to just a stallion with too much testosterone and too few brain cells to cope.

While I'm sure book size does have somewhat of an affect on agression, I'm not sure if its 100% to blame because we have what, how many guys breeding 200+ a year now? And how many of them have had aggression issues to this level?

If he continues attacking people he might have to be pensioned. And with this apparent level of aggression I'm not sure I'd trust him to be pastured next to other stallions.

In my post I questioned what these book sizes *may have on a young stallion's mind and temperment.

Like with anything we ask horses to do, some things effect some horses, others not.

It's not uncommon to see young performance horses in different disiciplines have their heads rattled by too much, too soon. While these huge books don't effect many stallions, I wonder about the effects on some such as this one. Breeding 2-3 times a day, almost year round and doing nothing but, I'm sure effects some of these 4 year old horses asked to do it. I'm frankly surprised they're as adaptable as they are. Even horses in nature don't breed year round.
